SBRA sponsors the 21st Annual Second Sight® Bike-A-Thon Freedom Ride to benefit both the Guide Dog Foundation for the blind® and America's VetDogs®. The foundation raises, trains, and furnishes guide dogs, free of charge, to people who are visually impaired or have other special needs, that seek the independence, mobility, and companionship a guide dog provides.

Leaving from the Guide Dog Foundation campus, 371 East Jericho Turnpike Smithtown, NY, rides range from a 5 mile fun ride to a challenging 65 miles. Depending on the length of the route, riders will tour St. James, Head of the Harbor, Stony Brook, Old Field, Port Jefferson, Belle Terre, and points east.

The 5, 10, 20 and 30 mile tours are escorted by volunteer marshals from SBRA. The 50 and 65 mile tours are unescorted. Riders are provided with cue sheets, and roads are marked along the route.

SAG support vehicles can assist riders with difficulties. Rest/water/food stops are available along the routes.
