CycleThe Suffolk Bicycle Riders Association is Long Island's largest cycling club. Organized in 1977, we are a club made up of all ages and cycling abilities. Active members enjoy riding together year round in a relaxed and friendly group atmosphere. Our rides range from short, easy trips for beginners, to moderately-paced tours with snack breaks, to fast, challenging rides for the more competitive minded. Volunteer club members organize group rides, leaving from various locations throughout Mid-Suffolk and the East End. Their routes provide us a wonderful variety of places to tour and explore.

SBRA promotes cycling of all abilities for health, fitness and fun. Come ride with SBRA.

SBRA sponsors the 25th Annual Fund Raising Event to benefit both the Guide Dog Foundation for the blind®. The foundation raises, trains, and furnishes guide dogs, free of charge, to people who are visually impaired or have other special needs, that seek the independence, mobility, and companionship a guide dog provides.

Leaving from the The RINX, Hidden Pond Park, 660 Terry Road, Hauppauge, NY, rides range from a 10 mile fun ride to a challenging 63 miles. Depending on the length of the route, riders will tour Ronkonkoma, Holtsville, Yaphank, Rocky Point, and Wading River.

For the past 25 years, the Guide Dog Foundation’s annual bike-a-thon has been one of their most popular events, and last year, their first Wag ‘n Walk dog walk had over 200 participants. This year, we have combined these events to create the inaugural Guide Dog Foundation Stroll & Roll.  On Sunday, September 28, 2014, please join us for this fun family, and pet friendly event to benefit the Guide Dog Foundation. New Special Ride Series for the Blind to start in May 2015

SBRA will be supporting Third Eye Insight Fitness For The Blind by providing a Special Ride Series on our calendar starting in May 2015. These rides will be held on Saturday mornings.
We will be looking for "Ride Captain" volunteers (for tandem bicycles) to help blind cyclists enjoy participating on these rides.
Experienced Ride Captains will be available to teach you how to be a Ride Captain. Tandem bicycles will be provided for use by the Third Eye Insight organization but if you have your own Tandem bicycle that would help allow more blind riders to participate.
Be sure to look for this new Special Ride Series starting next May.

SBRA has begun a “Special Ride Series” (listed as SRS under our Ride Classifications), which is a new ride class designed to better assist new people who wish to ride and learn with SBRA. Presently, there are three different special rides which are part of this exciting new program. (1) Paceline workshops; (2) More experienced rider, but new to SBRA; and (3) Beginner riders.
