SBRA Bike Boat Bike 2012 (New Fundraiser raffle this year with amazing prizes!)

    Come and enjoy Shelter Island scenery.

    SBRA invites you to cycle Long Island's East End. Tour through the woodlands, fields, and shoreline of the North and South Forks. Take the ferry to Shelter Island. Cycle through the scenic coves and byways of beautiful Shelter Island. Ride with friends, family or join a group and make new friends. Whether your preference is social, scenic viewing, or fast recreational cycling, we are sure you will enjoy the tour.

    Fundraiser: SBRA is supporting the Stony Brook Children’s Hospital, a place specifically designed with children and families in mind, (more below). 

    VIP Express Registration: For an additional $5 per person, no lines, no wait, (more below).

    Bike Boat Bike has flat to gently rolling routes of 25, 50, 68, 106 and 137 miles with Rest Stops.
    25 miles: Easy Flat/North Fork (Greenport start only)
    25 miles: Hilly/Shelter Island* (Greenport start only)
    50 miles: North Fork/Extended Shelter Island* (NEW - VIP Express Registration Available)
    68 miles: North & South Forks/Shelter Island* (NEW - VIP Express Registration Available)
    106 miles: North & South Forks/Shelter Island*/Hamptons (NEW - VIP Express Registration Available)
    137 miles: North & South Forks/Shelter Island*/Montauk Pt. (NEW - VIP Express Registration Available)
    *Registration does not include ferry fare. 

    All Rides are non-escorted rides.
    There will be maps, cue sheets, registration bracelets and clearly marked roads.
    Rest stops along each route provide food and refreshments.
    SAG support vehicles will assist BRACELETED REGISTERED RIDERS until 5:30 pm.

    FREE EVENT T-SHIRT FOR ALL PRE-REGISTERED RIDERS (size not guaranteed).

    Pre-registered riders include both Mail-in and Active.com registrations.
    All T-shirts must be claimed at check-in.
    Check-in / Registration opens at 7:00 AM and closes at 11:00 AM

    NEW 2012 - VIP Express Registration: (Mattituck Start Location) Alternate Start Location 
    For an additional $5 per person, you can choose the new VIP Express Registration (not available for 25 mile routes). With this option, you will receive your event T-Shirt, bracelet and cue sheets in the mail approximately 1 week prior to the event.
    You will start from Mattituck High School instead of Greenport High School and will not have to check-in. Simply unload your bike and start riding. This option is NOT available for the 25-mile route and is limited to no more than 500 participants (first come basis).

    Stony Brook Children’s Hospital:
    Join SBRA and support the Stony Brook Children’s Hospital.

    WIN a bicycle tour to France from Reilly Cycling Tours, and other great prizes too!

    In the early stages of the Suffolk Bicycle Riders Association (SBRA) Bike Boat Bike (BBB) planning for 2012, the BBB Committee and the Executive Board determined that it would be in the best interest of the club to have an associated charitable organization affiliated with BBB. It was decided that the Stony Brook Children’s Hospital filled that need best.

    In 2013, construction begins on a new facility for the Stony Brook Long island Children’s Hospital, Suffolk County’s first and only children’s hospital.  The move and expansion from its current location within Stony Brook Hospital will make sure that children in our community have access to the most advanced care in the most appropriate setting. 

    You can show your support for this worthy cause by supporting the Suffolk Bicycle Riders Association fundraising campaign:

    All riders must fill out and sign a registration/release form.
    Participants under 18 years of age must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
    All riders must wear an approved helmet (CPSC - Consumer Product Safety Commission).
    Cycling safety and strict adherence to all state cycling laws and rules of the road are imperative.
    We suggest you carry identification and any pertinent medical information with you at all times.
    Bicycles should be in good working order.
