NOTE:
Under the Ride Level details, the "Type: Road Bike" refers to the ride will be on paved roads (rather then off road trails). Although a Road Bike is suggested for Road Bike Type rides it is not required. Hybrid and mountain bikes can be used on these rides as well provided you are comfortable with the pace outline in the Posted Ride. This ride calendar is for club rides, club meetings, club event posts and shop rides only.
For Other Events in our area and off Long Island check out the "Other Rides & Events calendar" and the "Forums"

Join me for another EPIC RIDE! Rocky Point to Montauk. This ride is relatively flat with some rollers. This is an endurance ride that will be steady, consistent and relatively fast! The group WILL work & stay together! My estimate is about 8 hours moving time. Please be prepared with energy/nutrition and hydration although we will have several stops for refills as needed.
Here is the proposed route but already working on updates. If you have any suggestions, feel free to let me know.
We will ride out to Matituck and take a break at McDonald's. Speed should be 15-17.5mph. No one left behind. Check back day of ride for any changes by 7am.
Ride out to Manorville today. Ride will be high end of the B/B+ stopping around mile 22 for a food/rest break. This will be a pace line ride everyone pulls.
Join me for an early morning ride from Ronkonkoma to East Islip. We will take a short break at the Timber Point Golf Course, where we can use the facilities, grab a coffee/beverage/snack, and look out at the Great South Bay. This is a structured C+ ride which will average 12.2 - 12.9 (depending on the wind, etc.), with cue sheets.
PLEASE NOTE: This ride leaves from the NORTH side of the RR Tracks and we are meeting in the parking lot EAST of the train station.
Meet at the Smithtown Branch Shopping center, Route 111 and Route 25 (Main street). Park near LA Fitness, as we'll head across the street and up Bellemeade to start.
Ride along the Nissequogue to Short beach and Long beach, then out to StonyBrook, Old Field, Setauket, and Port Jefferson.
This is a VERY HILLY ride, so I've put the pace at B-, we may come in at the low end of that.
The ride will be almost the same as the Sunday Great River Ride. We will go the usual route through Connetquot Park and then do a loop in Heckscher Park where one can stretch the legs a bit. It will have one pee stop, then an ice-cream or yogurt stop (around mile 30), with or without toppings; calories are free. If you don’t want the sweet stuff you can get coffee and other things; too many to mention. The average pace for the ride will be between 14.7 to 15.0 mph, +/- depending on the roads, wind direction, and other conditions which could put the ride in the lower part of a "B". The road speed will be between 15 and 17 mph.
Please check the ride calendar for any weather, or last minute cancellations which will be posted no later than 7:30 AM if necessary. My cell number is 631.484.3490; call anytime if you have questions.
The plan will be to ride from Coram Pines to Cedar Beach via a few challenging hills such as Old Post Rd East & West. We will take a refreshing break at Cedar Beach and then hit the next hill challenge on Harbor Beach Rd climbing up from sea level. The rest of the ride will be flat and rolling. This will be a good chance to start getting our hill legs back. The pace will be a B- and while i hope to come in with an average between 14 and 14.5, i know I and some of you will be slowing down for the hill climbs and our average may drop due to that. Nonetheless, given the climbs this ride is rated for B- riders. Please bring snacks as there will be no lunch stop. There will be bathrooms and water available at beach. Anita's C#806-9662.
Looking for afte-ride entertainment? Live@Deepwells, Deepwell's Mansion, Rte 25A St James, outdoor concert. $5.00 adm. 4 - 8 pm. Bring chairs, picnic dinner, drinks. GREAT TIME!!
Quick 20 miler loop at an 11-12.5 pace as I have Picnic responsibilities to take care of this afternoon. Newbies always welcome. Any cancellation by 8:30AM.
Please join us for a ride on the Jones Beach Bike Path. We'll park along South Cedar Street, where there's an entrance to Cedar Creek Park. This bikeway parallels the Wantagh Parkway from Cedar Creek Park to Tobay Beach. The boardwalk is open to bikes, so we may wind up adding a few more miles to what I posted. Although a road bike is fine, a hybrid would be better, especially on the boardwalk. Bring a snack and water, there will be a stop at the concession stand for hot dogs or pretzels...yummy!
If you can't find a parking spot along South Cedar Street, call me at 631-793-8298 so that we can designate a meeting place.
I'm including a link to check out the park information (bear in mind that the directions to the park listed on the website will bring you to the main entrance and you will be charged the parking fee).
