NOTE:
Under the Ride Level details, the "Type: Road Bike" refers to the ride will be on paved roads (rather then off road trails). Although a Road Bike is suggested for Road Bike Type rides it is not required. Hybrid and mountain bikes can be used on these rides as well provided you are comfortable with the pace outline in the Posted Ride. This ride calendar is for club rides, club meetings, club event posts and shop rides only.

This 55 mile, modified paceline ride will begin at the Veterans Memorial Park in Calverton and go to Quogue and back. The pace will be in the fast B to moderate B/B+ range depending on the wind. We will stop at the Beach Bakery at mile 36.
Longer version of Bill's TBC ride through Yaphank. Short pulls, cruise at +/-18 mph depending on terrain and conditions. Average at low end of B+, approx. 17. It's 27 miles to the rest stop at McDonalds. We'll head to Yaphank to River Rd. and then pick up Bill's route, then Grumman Blvd. to Mill to Manorville. Return via Yaphank on Mill to Lincoln. You want to know where the beef is. After the ride we will enjoy $1.00 beef tacos and half price beer with many tap selections. For those who don’t want beef there are $2.00 shrimp tacos as well as other choices. It's also Chris's Birthday. The tacos are on me, all you can eat.
But first – let’s work up an appetite with a ride. We will be going to the Yaphank area using Woodside and Long Island Ave. or we can change the route as needed. The average will be about 14-15mph; naturally the road speed will be between 15 and 17 depending on the wind...

I'm taking Mike F's Wednesday ride this week and Lynn will be sweeping.
This 21 mile B- ride will average 14.5 mph with cruising speeds of 15-18 mph.We'll enjoy the quiet streets of Great River and East Islip, and will also do 2 loops in Heckscher State Park where we can stretch our legs a little.
Parling lot on Greely. Target crusiing speeed is 16 MPH but will do 15 or 17 depending on slowesr rider. One brief catch your breath at 15 miles. Lights reccomended (just in case).
