Although a Road Bike is suggested for Road Bike Type rides it is not required. Hybrid and mountain bikes can be used on these rides as well provided you are comfortable with the pace outline in the Posted Ride. Join me for this easy and almost completely flat ride from Riverhead to Mattituck, where we will take a break at the Deli on Love Lane. We will return through Jamesport, up and around Riverhead, and end up at the start. There will be cue sheets.
The average pace will be around 12.3 - 12.9, or so, unless those in the group wish to go faster.
Join in for this training ride for the Montauk Metric Century. I've reworked the route, took out any glitches (hopefully) and added in a tour of downtown Orient. First brief stop will be at mile 21 in Greenport for bathroom and snack, then we'll take a stop at Orient Beach State Park at mile 32 to enjoy the scenery. Lunch stop will be at mile 41 at the deli in Orient. After that, its rollers home along Soundview. I'm thinking we'll average in the low C+/B- range in order to do the miles, deal with the wind, and arrive home with a bit of energy to spare. Bring snacks and water, plan to be out through the afternoon. Check the posting before you leave your home, any changes/cancellation will be posted by 6 AM. Call on my cell if you have any questions.
Today's Mi Tierrita ride will be going to Smith’s Point. The route is mostly flat with a small incline here and there. The route on the way back may change depending on the wind.
The average pace for the ride will be between 14.5 to 15.0 mph, depending on the roads and wind direction. The road speed will be between 15 and 16.5 mph. We'll stop along the way for a bathroom break around mile 10. Don’t forget to bring a snack for the stop along the way.
Do you know what AGUAPANELA is? Come and find out; PARKING: Use the area of the parking lot on the SOUTH side first

Delayed - The start time for this ride is changed from 9am to 10:45am. And we will ride a kinder, gentler pace--19 to 20mph cruising speed.
