We will ride around Belmont State Park Lake then taking the trail down to Babylon town dock. The trail can accommodate fat tire, mountain and cross bikes. Short hydration break at the dock or we can stop at the Delica Sea deli just before the dock if needed.
The pace is as fast as the slowest rider. Note- The route includes both trail and on road riding.
Please check the ride calendar for any weather, or last minute cancellations, which will be posted no later than 8:00am if necessary. My cell is 347-677-4164; call or text if you have questions about the ride or need directions to the start location. DN
Sorry Everyone, I have to cancel, too many things to do and my Sweep is under weather.
We will be leaving East Islip BOA and head to the Great River area. Then we will make our way to the Babylon Dock area. Then off to Islip Beach before returning to the bank. Our break will be in Babylon or East Islip, the group will decide.
This is a B- ride with an average speed around 14.5-15 mph, road speeds may reach 16-18mph. Check the ride calender for any changes posted by 7:30 day of ride.
Let's get together for one last ride to Briermere Farms, before they close for the season. We'll paceline our way out to Briermere, and then work our way home cutting across the wind. We'll eventually hit South River Road, for a change.
No planned stops but we can make a quick stop at our favorite gas station if needed. This a group ride! If you have a need to go fast please go to the Bagel ride. There will be an option to pick up the pace on Mill Road heading home..
Looks as if we may have a few good days this week to ride so we will go easy and not chase those that are training to race in January.
Join me for this C ride (average 11.6 - 12.3) around Holbrook, Ronkonkoma, and Bohemia, then down to Sayville and back up to the ride start in Ronkonkoma. We will take our break at the Gourmet Bagel Co. on Lakeland Ave., where beverages, food, and a bathroom are available. Adjustments to the route direction and/or distances may be made due to the prevailing winds and/or temperature changes.
Today's’ route to Great River will change up a bit towards the end of the ride, if the wind is in our favor; making this route pretty flat except for 2 overpasses. We will go the usual route heading south using the Connetquot Park bike bath. We’ll work our way down to Heckscher Park, do a loop where one can stretch the legs a bit if desired.
The average pace for this ride will be between 14.0 & 14.5 +/- mph, or what conditions allow. The road speed will be between 15 and 16.0 mph, or slower if needed for safety concerns.
Please DO NOT PARK in the Meat Farms parking lot. Use the west side of the bank if the east side is full. Thanks!
We’ll be making a rest stop around mile 19 at the deli/bakery. The route back will be determined by the wind direction. Good Stuff after the Ride. Not sure what good stuff; it's always a surprise.
Any cancellations due to unforeseeable circumstances, or weather related problems will be posted by 8:30am. If you have any questions about this ride, or the start location, please call or text my cell, 631-484-3490.
This ride will be delayed until SUNDAY at 10:30 when temps will be warmer. Join us for this multi level mountain bike trail ride. Pace will range from beginner to intermediate and follow a pecking order. Any hammerheads can go off in front. Bring water and snacks. Mostly flat terrain. DEC permit required. Rain cancels. Check in am by 8:30
Haven't ridden in about a month so speed likely on the low side of C+ or slower depending on the riders and wind. Park in lot near RR tracks. A few rollers at first then flat after that. The stop at Netties is near the end of the ride. Check back for any changes which would be posted by 9 am.
