Respecting the HEAT ... this will be a moderate B paced ride which I'd like post for 7:30 but no one would show ;-( . Necessary equipment includes two filled water bottles. Bagel break in Miller Place @ approximztely 20 miles.
Join me for this C+ ride, which will average 12.0 - 12.8; no one gets dropped and we will be observing spacing rules, etc. Ride route will be determined by the road conditions; decision to be made the morning of the ride; no cue sheets. We may head to west and loop around Corey Beach; we may head east to the Smith Point Marina.
Please arrive at least 15 minutes before the ride start, to allow enough time for me to get everyone signed in and to "get yourself" ready.
NOTE: I am limiting the number of riders on my rides, so you MUST text me with your name, SBRA Member Number, and Emergrncy Contact phone number if you want to ride. I will return the text: YES, you have a spot…or…NO, Ride Filled...CELL #: 631-523-2129
We'll leave from the South St. School and head through Eastport and Remsenburg to Westhampton Beach. Then it's a 4 mile go at your own pace down Dune Road to the Beach. After a short break, we'll head back past the Casa Basso and Eastport to the finish.
There will be plenty of road to paceline on, so come on back to the beach!
Park in the Northport Village Park to the right at the foot of main street. The farmers market will be set up in the cow harbor lot. Also try to be there before 8:15 or parking can be difficult.
Join me for this scenicAlmost flatC- ride, cruising speed will be around 10-11mph.
This is more of a tour than a typical club ride. We will be stopping to enjoy the view along the way.
This ride is for seasoned riders who are Extremely comfortable riding on roads without shoulders.
We will be starting from Northport Cow Harbor Park, Cruise parallel to Northport Harbor on historic Bayview Ave. Then ride through what was until 1968, the Steers Sand and Gravel Company AKA "the Pit," now a quiet bayside community of private homes and condos. We will then head out to Asharoken along the narrow causeway for a few miles. Along Asharoken ave to our left will beNorthport Bay and to our Right Long Island Sound and Connecticut. We will then head to Bevin rd with its wonderfully restored Historic Victorian Bevin mansion along with many architecturally interesting homes. On our return trip we will retrace our route with further exploration of "The Pit."
Upon our return to Northport Village we can stop at Copenhagen Bakery or the farmers market for a snack to enjoy harbor side at the park. There is a bathroom at the town park & town beach as well as Copenhagen.

Changing it up today. I am posting this as a B/b+ but the route has alot of cross streets which we will have to stop at so the average will most likely not reflect the effort of the ride. This is more of a scenic ride to enjoy and not a ride to see how fast you can go. Our stop will be at the Sunshine Mall. Park in the first lot as you come into the park by the baseball field. Text if you are coming. 631-747-3464
Primary destination is Nettie's, may be Smith's Point or Patchogue, depending on wind direction and force. For this ride the Average speed is 12.7-13.5mph depending on riders, wind, tide, position of moon and leaders disposition with a distance of 20-26 miles. Nobody gets left behind and newbies always welcome and well taken care of. Any cancellation will be before 8:00am. No need to text me.
Please arrive at least 15 minutes before the ride start, to allow enough time for me to get everyone signed in and to "get yourself" ready.
