The Ride and Stop:
Since we had an enjoyable ride on Jones Beach bike path to Tobay Beach last weekend...we decided to do it again! We'll be riding to Tobay Beach (to use restrooms) then ride back to Jones Beach for an extended break. Please plan to stay on Jones Beach for approximately two (2) hours. This will give everyone time to relax and enjoy the beach before re-grouping and heading back to Cedar Creek Park. I realize this is a busy time of year, but since we're already at the beach...let's enjoy! This ride is being posted for everyone's enjoyment and to have fun without worrying about time constraints. In the event you can't stay on the beach, you'll have the option of returning on your own since the bike path is a direct safe route. In which case, please let me or the sweep know your intention the day of the ride. I hope you chose to relax and enjoy kicking back on the beach, taking a walk, enjoying a bite to eat (concession stands are open) or finding some shade to enjoy the ocean breeze!
If you're staying on the beach, please be sure to bring a bike lock since we're not permitted to ride our bikes on the boardwalk. When packing your items, please remember that we'll be riding to Tobay Beach first, so you might want to consider carrying a light backpack to bring a towel (or sheet), sunscreen, sandals and bug spray.
This will be an enjoyable, relaxing ride...no one will be dropped.
Parking:
I plan on parking along South Cedar Street, since there's an entrance to Cedar Creek Park. Just in case you aren't able to get a parking space on South Cedar Street and park in the main parking lot (parking fee is $10 per car), please call/text me at 631-793-8298 so that we can designate a meeting place before the ride begins.
I'm including a link to check out the park information (just remember that the directions on the website to Cedar Creek Park will bring you to the main entrance and you'll be charged the parking fee of $10 per car).
