NOTE: Due to a conflict in my schedule most, if not all, of the training rides will be moved to Sunday and replaced with a shorter ride (Great River 28) on Saturday. Please check the schedule
This is the second of the SEAGULL CENTURY training rides. You DO NOT have to be doing the century to go on any of these rides. The ride will be about 41.4 miles and I'm sure you will have no problems with it. We may take turns at the front, this way you can enjoy the wind in your face and be the first to smell the roses, or the road kill.
Today’s route will take us to Manorville and back via Bayport The average pace for the ride will be between 14.7 and 15 mph +/- Depending on the wind, road conditions, the dew point, and the group. Naturally the road speed will be slightly higher (15-17) to produce the average. Around mile 19 or so we’ll make a pit stop; you can go to Mickey D’s or the deli. There will be a few long spots where one can stretch the legs if desired, working off any extra calories gained at the rest stop. Make sure you bring water and something with electrolytes in it. Use only approved water bottles, we don’t want any accidents; no original store bought bottles in those cages, please!
Please check the ride calendar for any weather, or last minute cancellations which will be posted no later than 7:00AM if necessary. My cell number is 631.484.3490; call anytime if you have questions about this ride.
