Details (RL read field instructions carefully):
It’s a scenic ride through Eastport, Remsenburg, Westhampton Beach, and points east.
The wind direction will determine the route to be taken. If we have a West wind we will use Dune Road (wind at our back) as part of the route; great for those leg stretches. If the wind doesn’t cooperate we will use an inland route which is just as nice.
The average pace for the ride will be between 14.5 to 15.0 mph, depending on the roads, wind direction, and the group. The road speed will be between 15 and 17 mph. Dune Road will be the break - a - way spot for those who wish to do so. You are not obligated to do this; you can hang back with me and do a nice steady pace. No one will be left behind.
We’ll make a rest/food stop at Tully’s around mile 20 for some great clam chowder or fishy stuff. If Tully’s is closed we can go to the Market. Peddle another 13 miles to the Beach Bakery for some sweet goodies or a bagel and then go back to the start.
Please check the ride calendar for any weather, or last minute cancellations which will be posted no later than 7:30AM if necessary. My cell# is 631.484.3490; call anytime if you have questions about this ride
