LOOKS LIKE RAIN AND LOTS OF WIND. HOPE THE FORECASTS ARE WRONG BUT GOING TO CANCEL EARLY, SO IF YOU WERE GOING TO DO THE RID, YOU CAN MAKE OTHER PLANS.  

Why not one more century to enjoy the golden colors of the fall, before the leaves fall, and the weather gets colder? This will be a B/B+ ride that starts in Riverhead, heads south to Dune road, around Southampton, then up to Sag Harbor. We will take the ferry to Shelter Island where we will go to Ram Island. Next is the north ferry to Greenport for lunch and then to the town of Orient where we will turn and head west and back to Riverhead.

The route is mostly flat except for Ram Island. I have tried to avoid traffic hot spots, but this will be a busy pumpkin picking weekend. Lights front and rear and single file riding will be important.

There is no SAG support so be prepared and carry snacks, tubes, etc. You will need money for the ferries and lunch.
