    RIDE CANCELLED. TOO MUCH DEBRIS IN WAKE OF HURRICANE IRENE!!!

    Even with sunset at 7:30 PM we can still get in the 25-30 mile Stony Brook, Setauket, Old Field, Poquott route.

    Since this post was place pre-Hurricane Irene, the route may need to be modified or shortened to accomodate the roads and the 7:30 PM sunset.

    Ride is mostly rolling/hilly with some steep inclines along country roads with many waterviews, which makes it pictureque and challenging.

    Strong recommendation: Wear bright clothing and bring bicycle lighting.

    The ongoing controversy: Is the ride rolling or hilly? Comments welcome.
