Details (RL read field instructions carefully):
RIDE UPDATE THURSDAY 7:45AM - ROADS STILL WET AND THERE'S BEEN A LITTLE LIGHT RAIN OUTSIDE MY WINDOW. BETTER SAFE THAN SORRY SO I'M CANCELLING THE RIDE FOR TODAY AND RESCHEDULING FOR TOMORROW AT 8:00. I WILL BRING CUE SHEETS FOR A 30 AND A 50 MILE RIDE AND WE'LL LET THE GROUP DECIDE. IF WE DO 50 THEN THE PACE WILL PROBABLY DROP TO B- ( 13.1 - 14.0 ). I DON'T KNOW WHETHER I CAN DO 2 LONG DISTANCE B RIDES BACK-TO-BACK.
RIDE UPDATE THURSDAY SEPT 29 6:15AM - ROADS ARE WET FROM OVERNIGHT RAIN BUT I'D STILL LIKE TO TRY TO GET THIS RIDE IN. I AM DELAYING THE START TIME TO 9:30 TO GET A BETTER IDEA OF THE WEATHER SITUATION FOR THE REST OF THE DAY. IT LOOKS LIKE MOST OF THE RAIN IS WEST AND NORTH OF HERE BUT I WANT TO BE SURE. I WILL POST ANOTHER UPDATE AT 8:30 TO LET EVERYONE KNOW IF THE RIDE IS A GO/NO GO FOR TODAY. IF A NO/GO THE RIDE WILL BE RE-SCHEDULED FOR TOMORROW AT 8:00.
This ride is for anyone who, like myself, made the mistake of trusting the weather forecast for Sunday and didn't show for Joy's 50-mile TOH tune-up ride on Sunday. Slow B pace ( 14.1 - 15.0 ). Ride from Holtsville to Manorville. Since this will be my longest ride since the Montauk Century there is a good chance that the pace may slow to B- by the second half of the ride. Cue sheets will be provided. Cancellation for any reason will be posted on Ride Calendar no later than 6:45am. If cancelled I may reschedule as a 30-mile ride on Friday since we have the 75 mile ride on Saturday.
Please note: This ride will be leaving promptly at 8:00am. Anyone showing up at the last minute or who is not ready to roll out at 8:00 will be asked to take a cue sheet and meet up with the group along the route.
