The Joe Dunlop Memorial Spin-a-Thon is a fund raiser to aid Response of Suffolk County, a 24-hour Crisis Intervension, Suicide Prevention Hotline and ONLINE Crisis Counseling Service. All proceeds will help fund Awareness for Suicide Prevention.

Response of Suffolk County is a nationally accredited agency providing crisis intervention/suicide prevention services.  In addition to our free, confidential and anonymous telephone counseling, Response’s services include an adolescent suicide prevention education program which educates middle school and high school students about stress and depression, as well as an online crisis-counseling program available during after school hours.  

Suicide is the third leading cause of death for adolescents each year, and thousands of family members, friends, co-workers, classmates, and neighbors are left behind to cope with this tragic loss of life. With a suicide attempt estimated to occur every minute of every day in the United States, the importance of our work has never been greater nor our missions more urgent.
