This ride is the creation of Marianne Galati. I originally wrote the Cue Sheet from Bridgehampton to Montauk. I asked Joe Matzelle to review it. He politely stated "If the purpose is comradeship and celebration of the century riders accomplishments, shouldn't the ride end IN MONTAUK ?". He didn't even use the word "stupid".
There will be no lunch stop. It is hoped that we eat together after the ride. We want to be seen munching foie de gras as the Centurians enter Montauk.
My cue sheet is for 32 miles (Easthampton) and 50 miles (Bridgehampton). The hope is that other non-century riders will lead C, C+, B- or B rides this same day.
PARKING: Going east on Montauk Highway, as one enters Montauk Village, make a right at South Embassy Street (sign "Village Pizza" on your right). The Montauk Village parking lot is behind a variety store across South Embassy Street from Village Pizza. The parking spaces on the perimeter of this parking lot are reserved but the parking spaces in the middle are free for anyone. In the event that there are more people than the two riders who show up for my rides be aware that there are free parking spaces on South Embassy Street on the side of Village Pizza. There is a bathroom across on the north side of Montauk by the Police station (walk to the corner of the variety store and peer across Montauk Highway).
In the event that more parking spaces are needed, if one continues on South Embassy Street toward the ocean and makes a right onto Emerson and goes 1 or 2 blocks till South Elder Street and before South Eagle, there wiil be seen, on one's right, another Montauk Village parking lot. There is a bathroom there. I hope it is open.
