Join me (Anita) for something like the 12th annual Bloomin' Metric (in Connecticut) via Pt Jeff Ferry tour on Sunday, May 17th.
We will meet at 7 a.m. at the Pt. Jeff Ferry Dock for fee collection & loading for the 7:30 a.m. ferry (round trip price for the Pt. Jefferson Ferry with bikes will be $17 per person group rate).
From Bridgeport, we will ride a scenic route to the 1st water stop of the Bloomin' Metric where we will join the main route. Option of either 50 or 63 miles (most of us will do 63). At the last water stop we will regroup and get on the beginning of the tour, then veer off to get back to the ferry. Total mileage will be about 63. This will be a B paced ride. All other riders are welcome to come with their own groups.

Please register on line at www.soundcyclists.com/BloominMetric.htm . The earlier you register the more you save & you may get a T-shirt; plus the ride can be cut off due to volume. I will try to work out with Sound Cyclist an arrangement so we can have someone sign us in at the ride start and meet us with the bracelets. Looks like the ferry price went up; RT may be as much as $25 but I am awaiting a call back with the group rate which should be less.

We have 30 riders signed up to take the ferry over for the 2009 Bloomin' Metric! Let's hope its a sunny day! I will be emailing the list Thursday so if you didn't get your info to me please do so now!
As in past years, we will have a bagel breakfast on the boat, compliments SBRA! I know so many people are now low carbing it, but no one volunteered to scramble eggs!
Please don't forget your 2 bungee cords for securing your bike to the boat; $17 cash for the ferry; and any extra clothing you may need for a long day of riding with possible weather changes. Also, water bottles or camelback, helmet, etc. There will be a sign-in sheet for ride credit.
We will be met at the ferry (bridgeport) by Chris of sound cyclists with our bracelets, shirts and cue sheets. I will be providing cue sheets for the route to the 1st water stop & back to ferry from last water stop.
WOMEN ONLY: there will be women's specific fit t shirts available (french cut, really nice). Yeah! at least one bike club takes care of its women!!! I'm ordering those for most women; if you don't want that and prefer the men's style please indicate asap.
