RIDE UPDATE - FRIDAY 7:30PM - RIDE IS A "GO" FOR TOMORROW, REMEMBER TO ARRIVE EARLY ENOUGH TO BE READY TO ROLL OUT AT 7:30, NO WAITING FOR STRAGGLERS AT THE RIDE START.

For this year's fall century I'm going to try something different. My original route was supposed to take us from Eastport out to Orient Point. With a strong west wind predicted for Saturday, I didn't want to take the chance of having to ride the 50 miles back from Orient into a headwind. Instead I am breaking up the century into two 50-mile segments. The morning segment will head west into Moriches, then north into Manorville and east into Riverhead with a short rest/snack stop at Briermere's. There shouldn't be much traffic there early in the morning. We will return to the ride start in Eastport for a short break. At this point if anyone is having difficulty they can bail out without being stuck 50 miles from the ride start. There is a second posting on the ride calendar with a description of the afternoon segment.

Please arrive no later than 7:15AM so that you are ready to go at 7:30. We leave promptly at 7:30 with whoever is ready, all others can take a cue sheet and meet up with the group along the way.

Please check the Ride Calendar on Friday evening at 8:00PM to see whether there are any last minute changes. There is a chance I may have to use the hybrid bike on Saturday, which would mean that I would have to drop the pace down to B-.
