Although a Road Bike is suggested for Road Bike Type rides it is not required. Hybrid and mountain bikes can be used on these rides as well provided you are comfortable with the pace outline in the Posted Ride. This ride calendar is for club rides, club meetings, club event posts and shop rides only.

Changes: Let's plan for an average pace of 18-19mph; ride is a go as long as it's not raining at the start; may shorten the ride to 35 miles depending on the ever-changing forecast.
Starting from the northwestern lot of Patchogue YMCA, we'll weave our way through Patchogue toward Bellport, then head for Smith Point getting onto William Floyd Parkway (sprint section). We'll take a 10-15 min break then head back up. To be safe getting off William Floyd, we'll make a right after CVS onto Parkwood, left onto Maplewood and left onto Robinwood. There's another sprint section on Sills Road.
Added a few miles from the last ride and made it a little easier getting out of and back into Patchogue. Hoping to have a fast B+ ride depending on who shows.
This will be a steady pace line ride. Cruise at 20-22 witha final average around 20.5. One stop in Orient.
Because of the weather please check back for any changes. All changes by 630. This route can be made shorter if necessary and start later. I don't plan on going out in the rain.
Come on my C paced ride of 18-22 miles at 10.6-11.6mph. Newbies always welcome and nobody gets left behind. Any cancellation will be by 9am. Park on North side of RR at end of road. Bring water and a snack as route will be determined at ride start due to wind, tide, position of moon and leaders disposition.
Update – 7:15am – The ride will be delayed till 10:00am. There is a slight possibility of rain later in the afternoon. Therefore, the ride is shortened to 30 miles. If the weather improves we can always go back to the 36 miles. We can decide this during the ride>
Today's’ route will be similar to the Great River route with some added mileage, and a few changes. The changes will bring us through Islip Terrace or East Islip; it will all depend on the wind. The route is pretty flat except for an overpass, here and there.
We will go the usual route, heading south, using the Connetquot Park bike bath. We’ll work our way through the Islip’s then down to Heckscher Park, do a loop where one can stretch the legs a bit if desired. The average pace for this ride will be between 14.5 & 15.0 +/- mph, or what conditions allow. The road speed will be between 15 and 17.0 mph, or slower if needed for safety concerns.
We’ll be making a bathroom break around mile 21. The rest stop around mile 27 will be the deli/bakery. The route back will be determined by the wind direction.
Any cancellations due to unforeseeable circumstances, or weather related problems will be posted by 7:30am. If you have any questions about this ride, or the start location, please call or text my cell, 631-484-3490.
