We will be stopping at a Bagel store around mile 15. The ride is rolling with no major hills. We will try to keep to a B- everage with touring speed between 15 - 17mph. No one dropped.
Do not forget water, mask, etc. Check back morning of ride for any chabges - posted by 7:00
This ride is a modified Mel-O Monday which will be mostly the usual route but with some modifications and additions which make it a 40 mile ride. The ride name on RIDE WITH GPS IS: Mel-O Monday: Lake Check or download the course at: https://ridewithgps.com/routes/35882113
We will keep a steady B+ pace cruising at 20ish, depending on the wind and hills. During the ride we will enjoy riding agound the 3 local lakes: Lake Panamoka, Peconic Lake, and Wildwood Lake (off of route 51). A new wait-up will be at Wildwood Lake and the usual spots along the way as needed. There is a change approaching Lake Panamoka. We will be turning right off of Route 25 on Panamoka Trail, not on Tarkill Trail like we usually use. I'm trying something new. Routes 24 and 51 are basically a "down and Back". Hope to see you there.
Join me for this C ride that will average around 11.2 - 11.7. We will be riding from the Timber Point Golf Course in East Islip to Islip, and doing a few loops with some nice sights and water views. We will take a brief break along the way, so bring your own snacks, and we will find bathroom stops when necessary.
No one gets dropped and we will be observing spacing rules, etc. Due to possible weather issues, the exact route will be determined the morning of the ride (thus, no cue sheets).
After entering the golf course, park in the FIRST lot on your RIGHT.
Please arrive at least 15 minutes before the ride start, to allow enough time for me to get everyone signed in and to "get yourself" ready.
NOTE #1: You must be a club member to go on club rides.
