Going to Manorville today. A rest/ food stop at McDonald’s or the bagel shop is on the schedule around mile 17. There are a few places along the route for a break-a-way for those who wish to do so. Pulling is always appreciated for those who want. The route we take to Manorville will depend on the wind direction. This will be a "B" ride with the average speed between 15 & 16.
Any cancellation due to weather or any other circumstance will be posted no later than 0745 if necessary. If you have question about the ride just text me at 631.838. 1458 .
We will be leaving Oakdale RR heading to Belport. This will be a B- ride that will have an average speed around 14.5 -15mph. Road speeds will reach 16 to 18mph. Our food and restroom break will be in Bellport around mile 15.

We will be doing Chris's Northern Route to a pizza place that has many different types of pies. Travelling North by Artist's Lake to Whiskey Rd (for a short distance) over to Wm Floyd (nice wide shoulder) and up to The new North Fork Bike Trail. Taking the trail East to the end where there is a Bagel Shop, Chinese and great Pizza. After the break it's South and East back to Yaphank. No one gets dropped and Newbies always welcome. The cruising speed will be around 11.5-12.3. We'll stay together as a group. Naturally the speed depends on wind, position of moon, tide and ride leaders disposition. Breakaways are always welcome as long as you stop where I tell you to. Any cancellations will be by 8am.
Please arrive at least 15 minutes before the ride start, to allow enough time for me to get everyone signed in and to "get yourself" ready.
This ride has several viewing stops as well as a lunch stop, so plan your day accordingly. Strong winds could slow, change, or cancel the ride. We will make a brief stop at the Candyman in Orient (excellent store made chocolates) if it is still open, than go on to Orient point State Park. The park has restrooms, picnic tables and beautiful views. While at the park we will take a break, and have the drinks and snacks that each rider brings with them. On our return, we will stop at an historical slave cemetary, followed by a lunch stop at the Orient General Store, which has great sandwiches, outdoor picnic tables, reasonable prices, and a bathroom. Next stop is the Horton Hill Lighthouse. We than return to our cars. There is a Dunkin Donuts in Southold, a minutes drive from where we are parked, if you need coffee or a restroom. This ride has a limit to the number of riders, so book early. To join this ride, text Bill G. at 631-356-3036 with your SBRA#, emergency and cell numbers, your full name, and ride destination.
