NOTE:
Under the Ride Level details, the "Type: Road Bike" refers to the ride will be on paved roads (rather then off road trails). Although a Road Bike is suggested for Road Bike Type rides it is not required. Hybrid and mountain bikes can be used on these rides as well provided you are comfortable with the pace outline in the Posted Ride. This ride calendar is for club rides, club meetings, club event posts and shop rides only.

We are starting at 9:15 AM for this easy, short, and flat ride around Center Moriches. It will be a C+ ride, which will average 12.0 - 12.8, and will be taking our break at Nettie's. There are some very nice water views along the way. No one gets dropped and we will be observing spacing rules, etc. Exact route will be determined as we go along, so no cue sheet.
Please arrive at least 15 minutes before the ride start, to allow enough time for me to get everyone signed in and to "get yourself" ready.
NOTE #1: I am limiting the number of riders, so youMUST text me with your name, SBRA Member Number, and Emergency Contact phone number if you want to ride. I will return the text: YES, you have a spot…or…NO, Ride Filled...CELL #: 631-523-2129
Sorry, due to the forecasted excessive heat and air quality alert we are cancelling. Will reschedule.
Come join us for a summer ride from Sayville to Bellport. We will try to beat the heat with many stops and detours down near water, where hopefully we will get a few cool breezes.
This ride is mostly flat with only about 500 feet of elevation gain for the entire ride. Pace will be dictated by the weather, but given forecast, expect a number of stops to hydrate, as well as to enjoy some water views.
We will not be making a stop to buy food during the ride, so, please bring lunch, snacks and sufficient hydration. We will stop mid-ride by one of the water view interludes where one can eat what you bring. Most importantly bring an upbeat inquisitive attitude ready to explore and discover (and did I mention hydration)
To join the ride or if you have questions, please text Bill Mastro at 917-921-5358. If joining the ride, it is helpful if you forward your full name, SBRA number, cell number and your emergency contact. Any updates or weather issues will be posted to the ride listing by 7:30 on the day of the ride.
