Under the Ride Level details, the "Type: Road Bike" refers to the ride will be on paved roads (rather then off road trails). Although a Road Bike is suggested for Road Bike Type rides it is not required. Hybrid and mountain bikes can be used on these rides as well provided you are comfortable with the pace outline in the Posted Ride. Nettie's is closed, so we wre going to Bean and Bagel. Same starting point and time. To join this ride, text Bill G. at 631-356-3036 with your full name and date of ride. Check the ride calendar the day of the ride for changes, which would be posted by 07:00am.
Join me for this will be a C+ ride, which will average 12.0 - 12.7, partly depending on the winds, the riders, etc. Since the exact route will be determined at the start, so there willnot be a cue sheet for this ride. We will ride part of Dune Road (direction determined by the winds that day) and then take our break in Westhampton at the Beach Bakery, where bathrooms and food are available.
NOTE #1: I am limiting the number of riders on my rides, so you must text me with your name, SBRA Member Number, and Emergency Contact Phone Number if you want to ride, I will return the text: YES, you have a spot; NO, ride is filled. CELL #: 631-523-2129.
UPDATE.. changed this ride after riding 3 days in row. Slower pace and shorter miles..Leaving as B/B+ but we will be riding at the lower end of the category so we can just enjoy the ride.
Come join us for a Moriches exploration as we head down and ride around the Moriches including exploring a few new roads and dead ends with hopefully good water views. All and all, a neat 40ish or so miles with a bunch of turns. This is a new variation of a ride we tried a few weeks back. This time we add a few additional roads, water views and new exploration destinations.
We will not be making a stop to buy lunch during the ride. There will be a number of stops along the way, so please bring food you may want or need as well as sufficient hydration. Most importantly bring an upbeat inquisitive attitude ready to explore and discover.
To join the ride or if you have questions, please text Bill Mastro at 917-921-5358. I usually send the final ridewithgps file to those that text me. Any updates or weather issues will be posted to the ride listing by 7:15 on the day of the ride.
