NOTE:
Under the Ride Level details, the "Type: Road Bike" refers to the ride will be on paved roads (rather then off road trails). Although a Road Bike is suggested for Road Bike Type rides it is not required. Hybrid and mountain bikes can be used on these rides as well provided you are comfortable with the pace outline in the Posted Ride. This ride calendar is for club rides, club meetings, club event posts and shop rides only.

CHANGE: Due to the importance of the media event with Assemblymember Hennessey at 11 am in Patchogue, I decided to up the time to 9 am so that we can be back in time and then drive to the media event. I tried to incorporate it into the route felt this was the better option. Hope you will still join me.
I will be having the training rides on Saturdays and I am moving the pace up to a B-. It will be a little quicker than last week but not by much. I plan to keep the training flat this week again so we will head to Bellport with a deli stop when we get there. All riders are welcome whether you are doing the century training or not.
Meeting location is the south side of the train station, across from the main parking lot. Please arrive at least 15- 20 minutes early as we will roll out at 9:30. Please be sure that you have an appropriate water bottle (not a Poland Springs or other manufacturer water bottle).
Please check the calendar the morning of the ride in case there are any changes. Weather is supposed to be great. Look forward to seeing everyone.
Today we are doing a short ride to Southhaven Park and back. This is good training for riders who have not gotten much riding in this winter. Check for weather updates the morning of the ride..Never know when we will get hit with another snow storm!
**Formerly AM Coffee**Let’s show our support and be a little pro active, especially after County Legislator Thomas Barraga’s remarks. I am paraphrasing, Suffolk County is a suburban automobile community; drivers don’t expect to see bikes and motorcycles on the road. If you’re not training for the century this ride is for you. I’ll keep the average around 13.5, stopping for coffee and a pee break around mile 8 and then do a short stop at Shaber & Ocean around 11:15AM and then head back. News 12 will be there, what the heck you could be on TV; be nice, no potty mouth. My cell number is 631.484.3490; call anytime if you have questions. Weather should be significantly better! I've made some changes accordingly, including longer distance. Metric Century training ride, but all are welcome (towards the end, I will be asking that only those who plan to do the Metric Century finish up the training with this group). We will start out in the mid B range (15, 15+), hopefully getting faster as we go along, culminating in the Montauk Century, Metric distance, in the B/B+ to low B+ range. Please arrive early, we WILL roll on time!
