Hybrid and mountain bikes can be used on these rides as well provided you are comfortable with the pace outline in the Posted Ride. Welcome to Hills 101. We ride the North Shore hills around the Three Villages with wait-ups as necessary for all riders. Starting out as C+, we end up doing this ride at a B- in the summer. For now, we will be in the 12.5-13.5 range on the flats and we take the hills at our own level. Final average will be in the 12-13mph range.
If you've always wanted to work on your hills skills, this is for you.
This ride has no bathroom stop but we do take a snack break at the Old Field lighthouse. Weather cancellation will be posted by 9AM.

By popular demand, my vote put us over, we're back to the usual Tuesday evening ride.
Ride is 26 miles. With sunset at 7:39pm bright colored clothing and bicycle lighting, front and back, are highly recommended.
This is a hilly and structured ride through Stony Brook, Old Field and Setauket.
Narrow roads require single file riding along most of the route. The ride allows a few locations to break-away from the group, as instructed by the ride leader, otherwise the group will stay together.
LET'S TRY AGAIN THIS WEEK!
Repeat of our last GREAT ride with maybe a couple of extra miles as daylight is getting longer. Be there or be Square! No one left behind. Any cancellation by 4:30PM. Janet/Irene, where are you?
UPDATE - TUESDAY - 2:45PM - THE LATEST FORECAST HAS THE RAIN HOLDING OFF UNTIL AT LEAST 7PM, WHICH SHOULD GIVE US ENOUGH TIME TO GET THE RIDE IN. I WILL BE AT THE RIDE START AND MAKE A FINAL "GO/NO GO" DECISION AT THAT TIME.
Ride through East Islip and Islip with a short rest stop at Islip Beach. Pace will be on the low end of the B- range. Cancellation for any reason will be posted no later than 3:30PM on Tuesday. If cancelled, the ride may be rescheduled for Wednesday.
