Wander around Manorville. Pleanty of "no cars for miles" roads if you want to stretch your legs. No planned stops, seriously it's only 25 miles. I will average 16 mph. Take a cue sheet if you want to go faster.
Pace-line ride out to Rocky Point via Hallock, Stony Brook Rd, 25A, Sheep Pasture, North Country, 25A, Ridge Rd, Whiskey, Miller Place Rd. with a break at McD's in Miller Place.
Going to Ronkonkoma today; the heck with the wind, if any. We’ll stop at the lounge for coffee and a bathroom break between mile 12 & 15, and then head back. Stretching ones legs in a spot, or two, could be a good thing. The average pace for the ride will be between 14.5 and 15.0 mph; the ride will be between 17 and 20 miles. The road speed will be slightly higher to produce the average.
Please check the ride calendar for any weather, or last minute cancellations which will be posted no later than 8:00 AM if necessary. My cell number is 631-484-3490, call anytime if you have questions, or need direction to the start.
Exit 70, LIE, go South 1/2 mile to Mcdonalds/kk lot, parking in area of lot facing McDonalds. Facilities should be open at the park, and we will take a break on the boardwalk overlooking the Atlantic Ocean. On the return we will stop at the Beach bakery for refreshments/lunch/bathroom break. Average speed will be between 12-13mph, adjusted to the needs of the group. For information/questions contact Bill Gravitz, 631-356-3036. Be sure to check the ride calendar by 8:00am day of ride for any changes due to weather.
Come on out to Riverhead for the 33 mile ride to Wading River and back, with plenty of varied terrain and hills (Route 51, Route 111, Little Flower, Baiting Hollow) and some nice, quiet roads, too. We re-group after the major hills, with a brief rest after the Little Flower hill.
