NOTE:
Under the Ride Level details, the "Type: Road Bike" refers to the ride will be on paved roads (rather then off road trails). Although a Road Bike is suggested for Road Bike Type rides it is not required. Hybrid and mountain bikes can be used on these rides as well provided you are comfortable with the pace outline in the Posted Ride. This ride calendar is for club rides, club meetings, club event posts and shop rides only.

Ride leaves at 08:30am, not pm-thanks Tom for the comment.Take LIE to exit 70, go South about 1/2 mile to the McDonalds/kk/7-11 lot. Park on the side facing McDonalds and the back of 7-11. The park has bathrooms and a picnic area, but no food. We will stop at the Deli just before the park for snacks/drinks, etc. Average speed will be between 13-14mph, depending on temperature, wind, hills and group abilities. **Changed from Middle Island To Yaphank** How about going to Yaphank today? The average pace for the ride will be between 14.9 and 15.0 mph depending on the wind direction and other factors. The road speed on this ride will be between 15 and 17mph. There are a few places along the route where one can stretch the legs if needed. This is not a pace line. Around mile 19 there will be a bathroom/deli stop.

A beautiful ride through Setauket, Strongs Neck, Old Field, Stony Brook, and St James.
Lots of rollers, and some challenging climbs.
There will be spots to break away, but we'll regroup at designated spots, otherwise, we stay together, no one gets dropped.
Expected ride average: 14-14.5
