This ride is for all registered Montauk We Hope Riders. If you haven't already done this ride; the route is marked, food stops and sag support will be provided to all registered riders (bracelets will be given out). This is a one way ride to Hither Hills. There will be a bbq at Hither Hills for the riders at the end of the ride (guests will need to purchase tickets). Bring a change of clothes once you get to the bbq.
If you chose, you can take the bus back to Setauket (your bike will be brought back by truck) or make your own arrangements to be picked up.
Join me for the 45 mile version of my ride. Boy scout hill or not you decide. Milage will be almost identical with or with out the hill. We will regroup and head into the break together. Hope to see everybody on Saturday!

Going to Manorville at a the low B/B+ range. Should average at the end of the ride around 16.5-16.7 with faster speeds on the flats of course to average out the ride.
Stop will be in Manorville before heading back. Group stays together.
Meet at the overflow lot south of the train station. Food/rest stop at the deli in Bellport. Pace should be in the middle of the B- range ( 14.0 ). Cancellation for any reason will be posted no later than 7AM.
Back to the beach for end of summer. Note start location. Deli stop before the beach for those who need it (Beach Hut may be closed, but bathrooms are supposed to still be open). Average pace around 15 or so, depending on wind and legs.
TOWN OF BROOKHAVEN HAS DECIDED TO CONTINUE CHARGING FEE AT HOLTSVILLE THROUGH SEPTEMBER, SO RIDE START IS MOVED TO SUNSHINE MALL.
I tend to be long winded so click "read more" on the bottom for the entire post. – How about taking another ride to Ridge for a change? It's a nice route with a little something for everyone. I've checked the problem roads and they have been repaved!
The average pace for the ride will be between 14.7 and 15mph. depending on wind conditions, and other factors such as humidity and squirrels. Naturally the road speed will be slightly higher ( 15-17 mph )to produce the average. Around mile 18 or so we’ll make a pit stop; you can go to Mickey D’s or the deli. There will be a few long spots where one can stretch the legs if desired; working off any extra calories collected at the rest stop. This is not a pace line.
My cell number is 631.484.3490; call anytime if you have questions about this ride or need directions to the start. Please check the ride calendar for any weather, or last minute cancellations which will be posted no later than 7:30AM if necessary
Park at very East end of lot. Wheels down at 9:30. Head off to Briermere for a quick pit stop then go check the Buffalo to see if there ripe for picking. If we find a a juicy one maybe we can coax it to follow us to the Bean and Bagel and have it for lunch. Pass through Area 51 and back to the waterfront. Average pace around 11-12.5 depending on wind, tide and groups ability. NOBODY LEFT BEHIND and as always newbies are always welcome. This may be your last opportunity to see the buffalo before they head off to Oklahoma for the winter! So, come out and ride or sit on the couch and get FAT! There may even be a Bob Miller sighting?
