NOTE:
Under the Ride Level details, the "Type: Road Bike" refers to the ride will be on paved roads (rather then off road trails). Although a Road Bike is suggested for Road Bike Type rides it is not required. Hybrid and mountain bikes can be used on these rides as well provided you are comfortable with the pace outline in the Posted Ride. This ride calendar is for club rides, club meetings, club event posts and shop rides only.
For Other Events in our area and off Long Island check out the "Other Rides & Events calendar" and the "Forums"

Let's switch it up a bit and head farther east. We will go out of the Holtsville Ecology Center rolling out a bit earlier so we are not out all day. We will be looking to average 13-14 mph doing 14-16 mph on the straights. We will make our way out to West Hampton stopping at the Beach Bakery or any other choice of venue on Main Street. After our delicious snack it's back to the ecology center. We are running out of training weeks so hopefully you are out on the bike or trainer during the week to keep the legs moving. Remember to keep checking back for updates if any. If I need to cancel I will do so before 6:30 am. Please remember to be prepared with extra tubes and COs. Water, snacks and money also recommended. If you have any questions please feel free to contact my cell.
Today is our longest Training ride so far..We are going out to Westhampton and stopping at the Beach Bakery for lunch. This ride will be a steady B Pace and we will stop briefly in Moriches and then onto Westhampton. Please make sure you have spare tubes and Co2 cartridges or a pump and money for lunch. If you have not been on any rides this season this is not the ride to start with. If for any reason it rains I will move this ride to Sunday.
Please be ready to roll at 8:45...
Park in the lot across from Litttle Vincent's - start out flat and some hills and water views on the way back. Enjoy some classic NY pizza as a reward when we're done.
Leave the Ecology Site for a ride out to Manorville with a visit to Area 51. Faster riders are free to form a group off the front, but let's make sure everyone has some friends to ride with.
It’s off to Manorville today with a little change in the route and an additional 5 miles because I know you can do it. The average pace for the ride will be between 14.3 to 15.0 mph; perhaps a tad higher or lower depending on the roads, wind direction and other conditions. Naturally, the road speed will be higher (15 -17 mph.) to produce the average. A rest/ food stop at McDonald’s or the bagel shop is on the schedule around mile 18. There will be some leg stretches along the way for those who feel the need. Please check the ride calendar for any weather, or last minute cancellations which will be posted no later than 8:00AM if necessary. My cell number is 631.484.3490; call anytime if you have questions about the ride or need directions to the start.
Rest stop Bean & bagel bring money, and returning up Mill slowly, ride average will be C+ depending on wind and who shows up, not faster, no one left behind, haven't been riding for 2 months trying to get back in shape.
Let's get this party started! My first ride for this year is a nice flat 20 miles, so put down the remote, get your ass off the couch and come on out. Park in the lot on the south side of RR (across the street). NOBODY LEFT BEHIND. Any cancellation by 9AM. Newbies always welcome. Ride should come in at 10-11.5MPH, depending on wind, tide and riders ability. As always check website for any cancellations due to weather or any other complications the ride leader may occur. WHEELS DOWN AT 10:05!
Come join us Sunday afternoon. 17 mile loop. No one left behind. Pace will be dependent on who shows up. If we have all B- riders then we will pace at that rate. If C+ riders show will will adjust the pace to that level. Hope to see you there. Meet at the CHASE parking lot on the North East side of the parking lot. Any cancellations will be posted by 12:00 noon.
We head back to the Quogue Wildlife Refuge for bathroom and snack break. If you haven't been out much, this is the ride for you. Easy pace on mostly back roads. Cell phone 516-330-1542.
