Although a Road Bike is suggested for Road Bike Type rides it is not required. Hybrid and mountain bikes can be used on these rides as well provided you are comfortable with the pace outline in the Posted Ride. This ride calendar is for club rides, club meetings, club event posts and shop rides only.
For Other Events in our area and off Long Island check out the "Other Rides & Events calendar" and the "Forums"

This ride is posted as a B/B+ and will keep to a 16.5mph average. It is going to be a social ride, not one to set PR's.
Cue sheets will be available if you want to ride off the front.
I suggest 2 spare tubes, there are places along the route to stop for water etc. There is no sag wagon.
Bring money for the stops and money for the ferry to and from Shelter Island. http://ridewithgps.com/routes/5644305
Please feel free to call or text with any questions about the ride.
Leave the Manorville King Kullen for a paceline ride out to Briermere Farms. We'll make a brief stop at Briermere and then head back home, so that you'll have enough time for the rest of the day's activities. We may join-up with Murray's group for the trip out to Briermere...
We are going in a different direction today out to Bellport. We will stop at the docks for a quick break and if you want you can stop at the deli on the corner to grab something to eat or you can bring a bar to snack on. We stay together as a group on this ride.

How about taking a ride to Great River today? We will go the usual route through Connetquot Park and then do a loop in Heckscher Park where one can stretch the legs a bit. The route is mostly flat with 2 little hills; maybe 3. The average pace for this ride will be between 14.2 & 15.0 mph, depending on the wind and other factors it could be a tad higher. The road speed will be 15-17 mph to produce the average. We will be making a deli/rest stop somewhere between miles 18 and 20. PARKING NOTE: If the usual spots are filled please park on the far WEST side of the bank parking lot.
My cell number is 631.484.3490; call anytime if you have questions about this ride or need directions to the start. Please check the ride calendar for any weather, or last minute cancellations which will be posted no later than 8:00AM if necessary.
Do the loop at a 11-12.7 pace. Newbies always welcome. Any cancellation by 8:30AM. Put down the remote and get off the couch! Yes, I'm talking to you! You can get pie at Briermere's, see the Buffalos with the holes and get a bagel at our bagel stop. What more could you ask for? Better yet, don't ask for anything because you're not getting it.
You ask, what are the Buffalo with the holes - They're the ones where they get the burgers from.
