This ride will hopefully give you a taste of riding a bike path ... Unfortunately we'll only do the 6+ miles on the path but there are "NO CAR BACKs!!" ... there are some road crossings and even a few small hills. The rest of the miles will be done in Stonybrook and Mt. Sinai/ Miller Place. This ride will be a moderate to strong B if you stay with the Ride Leader. ** Since the website Ride Calendar will be locked due to site maintenance ... if you plan to do this ride, you had better check in with my cell # (631-988-6557) on Tuesday evening (until 10 pm) or Wednesday morning (6:30 to 8 AM) to verify if the ride is a go ... ******
It’s off to Manorville. The average pace for the ride will be between 14.5 to 15.0 mph; perhaps a tad higher or lower depending on the roads, wind direction and other conditions. Naturally, the road speed will be higher (15 -17 mph.) to produce the average. A rest/ food stop at McDonald’s or the bagel shop is on the schedule around mile 12. There will be some leg stretches along the way for those who feel the need.
Please check the ride calendar for any weather, or last minute cancellations which will be posted no later than 8:00AM if necessary. My cell number is 631.484.3490; call anytime if you have questions about the ride or need directions to the start.
NOTICE: THIS WEEKS RIDE IS WEDNESDAY NOT TUESDAY DUE TO OTHER COMMITMENTS.
