Join me for a leisurely ride (following one of Dick's routes) through Coram, Middle Island and Miller Place. This will be a structured C+/B- ride, with a cruising average of 12.5 - 13.0, and there will be cue sheets. At the middle of the ride we'll stop for a break/snack at a local deli.
Meet at the Greenbelt Recreation Ctr which is on the corner of Patchogue-Holbrook Rd and Greenbelt Parkway on the north side next to the fire house. The entrance to the parking lot is on Greenbelt. I haven't led a ride in a long time so this will be a slow and easy ride and, since Bobby is also leading a ride that morning, I will be leading only myself which is good. Check the website by 7:30 am for any changes or cancellation or in case I decide to do Bobby's ride-only kidding. Call my cell with any questions or concerns 631 831-7276.
Today’s Mi Tierrita ride will be going to Smith’s Point. The route is mostly flat with a small incline here and there and of course the Woodside bigger incline. The average pace for the ride will be between 14.8 to 15.0 mph, +/- depending on the roads, wind direction, and other conditions which could put the ride in the lower part of a "B". The road speed will be between 15 and 17 mph. We'll stop along the way for a pee break. Bring a snack for the beach stop. There are a few places along the route where leg stretches can be be done for those who wish.
As usual Eduardo has invited us in for a snack and refreshments after the ride. PARKING: Use the area of the parking lot on the SOUTH side first.
Please check the ride calendar for any weather, or last minute cancellations which will be posted no later than 7:30AM, if necessary. My cell number is 631.484.3490; call anytime if you have questions about the ride or need directions to the start
