Paceline at a nice comfortable pace to Manorville. Try, if you want, going on Karen's B+ to start and fall back to our group when ever you feel tired. Just to see if you can handle a faster pace. It's a great way to learn to ride a little out of your comfort zone.
Come out and join me for a nice morning ride from Sayville to Bellport. We'll stop at the Bellport dock to view the Great South Bay. Either bring a snack or you may purchase something at the Bellport Deli.
This is a structured C+ ride which will average 12.5 - 13.0, depending on wind, riders, etc. There will be cue sheets and no one will be dropped.
NOTE: Park on the South Side of the train station.
We will meander thru Laurel, Mattituck, New Suffolk and Cutchogue, stopping for beautiful views of the Peconic Bay and Robbin's Island. There will be a deli stop in Cutchogue, with shaded picnic tables and restrooms. For information contact Bill Gravitz at 631-356-3036. Speed will average 14.5-15mph., depending on wind, temperature and rider ability. Changes, if any, will be posted by 6:45am day of ride.
Changed my route and ride level to a C+ because my daughter, Debbie, will be riding with us today. She is an experienced rider but has been off the bike for several years. She will have no trouble with this ride and neither will you. We will keep a C+ pace with an average likely around 12 or 13, unless the group feels the need for speed. This will be a scenic ride with lots turns on the way out and the way back will be more direct with a chance to stretch your legs if you want. We will take a break in Bellport at the Cafe Castellano which has a nice outdoor eating area.No one will be dropped. The parking lot entrance to the Greenbelt Rec Ctr is on Greenbelt Pkwy. Call me with any questions or concerns.
Park at the southeast corner of the Waldbaum's/Wendy's lot, under the trees by the RR tracks. We'll ride thru Remsenburg to Cupsogue beach. Pit stop at the beach. Back down dune road to Shinnecock Canal then back to Ponquogue bridge. Stop at the deli/cafe on Shinnecock Ave. Return inland. Mostly flat with a few rollers on the returns. Group stays together. Go nuts if you must on Dune Road. Number listed is my home landline so it won't take texts. Ride is a go unless posted as canceled by 7 am. We'll take speed down a notch if high humidity.
if you're a school teacher, your number of weekday rides are limited..... join us as we ride the "jewel of the east" meet at 8:30am--rolling by 8:45am pace will be comfotable. fattie friendly
Ok, this ride is for those who would like to do a quick ride down Woodside Ave, get a cup of coffee and do a ride back on Woodside Ave. The average pace for this ride will be between 14.7 & 15.0 mph +/-, depending on the wind and other factors it could be in the lower "B" range. The road speed will be 15-17 mph to produce the average. We’ll get coffee about half way at the deli. Yes, it’s a pee stop also. Long break - a - ways if you want.
