NOTE:
Under the Ride Level details, the "Type: Road Bike" refers to the ride will be on paved roads (rather then off road trails). Although a Road Bike is suggested for Road Bike Type rides it is not required. Hybrid and mountain bikes can be used on these rides as well provided you are comfortable with the pace outline in the Posted Ride. This ride calendar is for club rides, club meetings, club event posts and shop rides only.

Brickwell Farmingdale is our host location for this ride from Farmingdale Village to Target Rock (and just beyond) in Lloyd Neck.
We will pass through the towns of Bethpage, Melville, Huntington, Cold Spring Harbor, Syosset, Woodbury and Hicksville before returning to Farmingdale. We will have one rest stop in Caumsett State Park (with rest rooms and vending machines only), so please bring along nutrition accordingly. This is a no-drop ride with wait-ups as needed.
Brickwell MultiSports will provide a complementary coffee and bagel breakfast for us in the shop after the ride. Additionally, the shop’s restroom will be available to us before the ride.
Please park and meet us behind the bike shop in the free municipal parking lot, and NOT on Main Street, where parking meters may be in effect.
We will be leaving the bank heading to Babylon Docks where we will take a short food break / rest stop at the deli by the docks. Then we will return to EI and Great River area for a loop in the park before returning to the bank.
This is a B- ride with an average speed of 15 to 16 mph, road speeds may reach 17-18mph. Check the ride calender for any changes posted by 7:00am day of the ride.
Changed from Friday to Saturday to Sunday. This 50 mile ride will head into Manorville for 20+ miles (with no loops), then onto the Center Moriches Bay Area where we will do about 15 miles of long scenic loops. The break will be at McDonalds in Center Moriches and the ride will finish up in Eastport and Remsenberg.
We will try to maintain 15.5 to 16.0 mph depending on the wind speeds and direction.
We’ll head west from Tanger Outlets through the pine barrens, then head east on back roads, with short stops at Iron Pier and Breakwater Beaches.
Lunch stop at the Cutchogue Deli.
Pace will be an honest B/B+, ride is mostly flat with short climbs on Mill Rd and Sound Shore.
Group stays together, nobody gets dropped. Please bring plenty of water and a snack, as the lunch stop is at mile 40.
Any changes will be posted by 7 am the morning of the ride.
Tanger Outlet Directions:
Take the LIE to the very end, make right into Tanger, straight through traffic light, then first right into main parking lot. Tommy Hilfiger is the first store on the right.
Join us Sunday, October 14, 2018 for the third annual CycleNY Long Island Ride to benefit the NY Bicycling Coalition (NYBC.net). The ride begins at the Stony Brookside Bed and Bike Inn, with 28 mile and 44 mile route options. Both routes boast scenic water views and the area's beautiful mostly lightly traveled back roads. The longer route option includes some more challenging hills.
Off to Quogue with a 7 mile stretch on Dune Road. Food stop/bathroom break at the Beach Bakery in Westhampton around mile 23. Additional bathroom breaks available in Westhampton at mile 9, and at the Quogue Preserve around mile 20. A viewing stop of the Atlantic Ocean will occur about 2 miles past the Park Lane Brdge. Starting at the Coram/Pine shopping Center, we'll first cruise south to Middle Island then north to Miller Place, where we'll make a rest/snack stop at either McNulty's ice cream parlor or a bagel shop (group decides)before returning to Coram. Leader will maintain a 12-13 mph cruising speed. No one will be dropped. Call me at 631 846-7825 if you have any questions. Any change will be posterd by 8 am.
Ride has been rescheduled to Sunday, 10/14, at same place and time.
We will make a stop at the McDonald’s in center Mariches before heading north a bit. We will then take a bathroom break at South Haven Park before heading back to Bellport
Sorry there is something I have to do this day. Briermere will be our rest stop, will adjust speed to the slowest rider no one left behind, there wiil be go aheads for the faster riders, Questions call cell phone 631-484-1650 after 7am and before 8pm please.
Depending on wind, tide, position of moon and ride leaders disposition we will ride approx. 20ish miles at an 11-11.5 average speed. As always newbies always welcome and NOBODY gets left behind. So get off your butt, and lets ride for some exercise. Cancellation for any reason will be posted by 8:00AM. Anyone for pizza at the rides end?
