Under the Ride Level details, the "Type: Road Bike" refers to the ride will be on paved roads (rather then off road trails). Although a Road Bike is suggested for Road Bike Type rides it is not required. Hybrid and mountain bikes can be used on these rides as well provided you are comfortable with the pace outline in the Posted Ride. This ride calendar is for club rides, club meetings, club event posts and shop rides only.

Looking at an easy pace group ride. There probably will be a faster group out front for those that want a challenge, in December! My group will be going at a winter pace.
As many of you are aware Edwin Sanchez is running a cycling club out of Longwood and could use our help. What he is asking for is to look at anything you have that revolves around cycling and haven't used in a while. Gloves, helmets, jackets, old wheels, what every you have. He will be on Saturday's ride and I will be cleaning out the things I don't use. Please help out what ever you can.
This is a great cause and even if you can't ride drop something of at Car Hart on Saturday morning and I will make sure he gets it.
We will be leaving Bank of American in East Islip heading to Great River and East Islip area. Then we will head to Islip Beach. Please bring your snacks and drinks for this ride. Any questions call Mike at 516 448-8545
This is a B- ride with an average speed of 14.5 to 15 mph, road speeds may reach 17-18mph. Check the ride calender for any changes posted by 7:15am day of ride.
A fun moderate last paceline ride to Briermere Farms, before they close for the season.
Kick-off the holiday season with a new tradition: a Thunderbird ride out to Briermere to enjoy some treats and friends. We'll visit Mill Road on the way out, and the rolling terrain that includes Deep Hole on the way back.
Never ridden with the Thunderbirds, before? Come along on this ride, where everyone will keep their talons to themselves :) .
Update – 12/22/18 – 7:30am…The wind is suppose to be between 20 and 23 mph starting around 9am. Therefore I am cancelling the ride. I will see you tomorrow; it will be a better day. Thanks
NOTE: Should it be too cold, or too windy the ride will be canceled, moved, or changed.
This will be a nice ride around the Holbrook area. The average pace for this ride will be between 14.0 & 15.0 mph; naturally the road speed will be higher to produce the average. At the end of the ride we can all go for coffee and a bagel or, we can go to the bakery for coffee and something sweet.
Any cancellation due to weather or any other circumstance will be posted no later than 8:00am if necessary. If you have question about the ride or the start location please call or text me 631.484.3490…
Join me for this ride around parts of Stony Brook and St. James, on some newly paved roads. The pace will be between 12.1 and 12.5 and there will be cue sheets.
If the west wind is as bad as predicted, route might be shortened to avoid some of the worst of it.
Repeat of the ride I did recently as I liked the route and the food stop! Wind will slow me down but we are NOT doing Mill Road. Rest stop around mile 17. Always check back for any changes which would be posted by 8 am.
Depending on wind, tide and position of moon we will ride approx. 15-20ish miles at a 10-11.5 mph pace from Ronk station. Be ready to roll at posted time with water, fully inflated tires and helmet. Newbies always welcome and well taken care of and nobody gets left behind. Be there or be square. Cancellation for any reason will be posted by 9:00am.
Friday nite update: will give the roads a bit more time in the a.m. to drain/dry off with daylight. Start time is now 10:15am. Any other changes will be posted by 9:00am tomorrow

We'll travel scenic backroads thru the Stonybrook-Setauket area. For those familiar with the Wed Nite Roller Coaster, this will be some of that route but we'll start by heading up Lower Sheep Pasture and come out over near Poquott. Will pick up the route in Setauket with a shortened loop in Strong's Neck, then on to Old Field and West Meadow. There are hills, so the pace indicates that...and places to stretch your legs out ahead, wait ups after climbs. But please note this is not a "race ride". Soup or Green Cactus is an option for lunch after, if there is interest.
Brings snacks/water as our break will be on the route in Old Field and West Meadow. Bathrooms in Setauket if needed and at West Meadow (port-o-potty).
