Under the Ride Level details, the "Type: Road Bike" refers to the ride will be on paved roads (rather then off road trails). Although a Road Bike is suggested for Road Bike Type rides it is not required. Hybrid and mountain bikes can be used on these rides as well provided you are comfortable with the pace outline in the Posted Ride. This ride calendar is for club rides, club meetings, club event posts and shop rides only.

Jim's route starting at avg. low end of an A ride upto the regroup stop ( mile 12.2 after first hill). Then there will be a wait up after Little Flower and a rest stop at the gas station in Calverton ( mile 30 )
Not a race!! If you go out too hard you may run out of gas on 51 and 111 where pace will probably pick up and different groups may form depending of level of fitness. So pace your yourself!
Next wait up after 111 will be Halsey Manor Rd. Then together to Line Road where different groups may form again.
We will be starting out just behind Ron's group. I will stay at the back and make sure NO ONE rides alone. Please refer to Ron's ride for particulars as we will be doing the same ride at a gentler pace.
We will meet in the small lot south of the railroad tracks. We will take our food stop at a deli in West Islip. We can add a couple of miles if we all decide to by doing a loop in the park.
My goal is at least 40 miles; however, from an Eastport start, I know a host of mileage alternatives even if there is WIND.
UPDATE:3/27/19
At this point, I plan to do the 40 mile ride. I intend to start increasing mileage in the following weeks in preparation for the Montauk Century. Weather permitting, I will vary the routes for these training rides. Variety is the spice of life, right?
I would hope that you will download and put the Ride with GPS file on your bike computer so that I'm not the only one who knows where we are going. This is the file: https://ridewithgps.com/routes/29569118
I haven't published a route before; therefore, I hope that when you paste it into your browser the route will show up.
Welcome to the Hell of another season of Century Training Rides (CTRs)! It's time to get riding with greater distances and challenges, so we'll be ready to conquer the Century - otherwise you'll get chased with the pitchfork!
This week's ride takes us out to Westhampton Beach and Cupsogue Beach, with a stop at either 22.5 or 34 miles. On the way out, we'll hit the Route 31 climb to the airport. The return will include the Casa Basso and some wind, so save some energy for the end!
Let's work together as a group, so no one is left straggling. So, no playing devil takes the hindmost! (Look it up, it's a race).
Join me for this C+ ride from Sayville - destination will be either Bellport (most likely) or Ronkonkoma - to be determined by the prevailing winds . We will have a bathroom stop and take a break somewhere.
This is a structured ride which will average 12 - 12.5, depending on wind, riders, etc.
NOTE: Park on the South Side of the train station, across the street.
Leaved prompty 9:15am from the lot behind of Tildas Bake Shop -- did I said behind, the little community/park lot across the road of drive through CVS window.
Group works together. Few dedicated playgrounds...
Brief sound watching stop at IPBP and Coffee/snack stop in James Port.
