NOTE:
Under the Ride Level details, the "Type: Road Bike" refers to the ride will be on paved roads (rather then off road trails). Although a Road Bike is suggested for Road Bike Type rides it is not required. Hybrid and mountain bikes can be used on these rides as well provided you are comfortable with the pace outline in the Posted Ride. This ride calendar is for club rides, club meetings, club event posts and shop rides only.

From Maples we will ride to Bean and Bagel for a breakfast/bathroom stop, than continue on to Wildwood state park for a a brief park visit. Wildwood has indoor heated restrooms. From Wildwood, we will return to Maples Parking lot. Optional lunch at Maples Bar. They have large hamburgers, and my riders have liked the chile served there. Very easy ride to Bean & Bagel for Great Bagels on roads with very little traffic through the Pine Barrens and on some paved trails through the woods no one left behind. Please call my cell 631-484-1650 after 7am or before 8pm for any info check back day of for any changes which might be made 2 hours before ride if the weather is bad.
This will be a steady 20 to 22mph, “A” paced ride.We will leave Veteran’s Memorial Park and head to William Floyd Pkwy North, around the Jets, through Grumman to 24/51/111, and home (see route below for further details.)
We’ll make a brief stop at the gas station, which is about half-way into the ride.
Cancellation for any reason will be posted by 8am on the day of the ride.
I'm taking Mike F's Thursday ride this week and Lynn will be sweeping.
This 22 mile B- ride will average 14.5 mph with cruising speeds of 15-18 mph. We'll enjoy the quiet streets of Great River and East Islip, and will also do 2 loops in Heckscher State Park where we can stretch our legs a little.
