NOTE:
Under the Ride Level details, the "Type: Road Bike" refers to the ride will be on paved roads (rather then off road trails). Although a Road Bike is suggested for Road Bike Type rides it is not required. Hybrid and mountain bikes can be used on these rides as well provided you are comfortable with the pace outline in the Posted Ride. This ride calendar is for club rides, club meetings, club event posts and shop rides only.
For Other Events in our area and off Long Island check out the "Other Rides & Events calendar" and the "Forums"

This ride was basically created by Jack Steffens, a great ride leader and hill (and dog) trainer who passed too soon. This ride has a B/B+ rating due to the effort but will probably end up at B/B- pace. We "only" climb ~1880 feet with this ride ;-).
I'm starting this ride at the Lakes club house and if you bring a bathing suit (or use your riding gear as I do) and towel, you can join me after the ride for a refreshing dip as my guest.
Check back to this posting Tuesday evening and there may be a RideWithGPS file.
Always check the posting before leaving for the ride as Life Happens and Things Change.
This is a Tag Along for the usual Shea Hill Route. The biggest difference will be that we will roll out 10 minutes early and do a real warmup all the way to Wading River. The A ride will probably catch us around the Wildwood Wait-Up. We will then ride with the A group for the rest of the ride.
The Generals Hill ride with the General missing. We'll help Lisa carry on the tradition by filling this week. Same start time, same route, same regroups.
NOTE: Ride start location changed. We all know what this ride is about; burger and a beer $6.00. Tacos $1.00 and half price beer; if you can’t make the ride stop in, and join us for the eats. Ok, now let’s talk about the ride.
We’ll be going to the Yaphank area, the Patchogue area, or the Holbrook area. It all depends on the riders and the wind. Most riders like the LI Avenue run, so if possible that will be choice one. The average will be about 14.5 to 15 mph+/-naturally the road speed will be higher; between 15.0 and 17.0 with the wind at your back.
Note: the ride starts at Rudi’s. I have spoken with the owner and parking will be allowed on Wednesdays. Please park along the north side of the parking lot first. Then use the west side if spots are full. DON’TPARK in reserved spaces.
I know this is a new ride start location. Click on Rudi’s above and then click Google Maps. If you need directions please call me at 631.484.3490, or text. Any cancellation due to weather or unforeseen circumstance will be posted no later than 12:30PM.
We will be leaving Hermann Griem Park and head to Babylon for a 26 mile ride. The ride will be at a B pace with an average speed of around 15 to 16mph and road speeds that will reach 16 to 18 mph depending on winds and road conditions. Please pack hydration and snacks as the three summertime Hs is forecasted for Wendesday.
Changes or cancelation will be posted by 4:30pm day of ride.
If you have any questions concerning this ride, call Dave at 347-677-4164.
