This is a warm up for the Orient century on Sunday. I'd like to keep our speed between 18-20 mph with a max pace of 24 mph (unless we are on a decline or have a tailwind).
Beaver Dam has some rough road. Sprint section on William Floyd to Smith Point. After a quick break at the beach (5-10 min), we'll turn right onto Parkwood Dr and cross over William Floyd back towards Smith St (safer than crossing over several lanes of highway). Instead of taking Horseblock Road to Sills (rough road) we'll turn onto Yaphank Ave to Long Island Ave to Sills.
In the event of rain, I'll post an update by 7am Sat morn.
We will be leaving Bank of American in East Islip heading to Great River and East Islip area. Then we will head to Bohemia and stop at McDonalds around mile 23 for our break. Any questions call Mike at 516 448-8545
This is a B ride with an average speed of 15.5-16mph, road speeds may reach 17-19mph. Check the ride calender for any changes posted by 7:00am day of ride.

Thereafter, we will head back to Hermann Griem Park.
The average pace for the ride will be between 15 to 16 mph+/-, depending on the road conditions and wind direction. The road speed will be between 16 and 18 mph.

This will be a C+ ride from Sayville to Bellport, Ronkonkoma, or even East Islip - direction will depend on the prevailing winds, etc. There will be a break & bathroom stop wherever we go.
This is a structured ride which will average 12.4 - 12.8.
NOTE: Park on the South Side of the train station.
We will be taking a different route to Manorville due to the current constructiopn. The average pace for the ride will be between 14.6 to 15.0 mph +/- depending on the roads, wind direction, rider ability or other conditions. Naturally, the road speed will be higher (15 -17 mph.) to produce the average. The route might vary slightly from last week depending on conditions. A rest/ food stop at McDonald’s or the bagel shop is on the schedule around mile 13. There are a few places along the route where leg stretches can be done for those who wish to do so. There is no obligation for anyone to do this; you can hang back with me.

Easy ride on mostly flat, mostly quiet back roads. Stop at the Refuge for bathroom break (bring a snack). Optional pizza after the ride. Park in south lot closest to Montauk Highway. Any changes would be posted by 7 am.
Please park in the lot located on the North side of the station. The entrance is located at Parkside Blvd. & Veterans Blvd. No permit is required in this parking lot. There's an entrance to the trail behind the parking lot.
This ride is most flat...with some hills, especially the closer we get to Plainview. Since this is a shared bike path with pedestrians and other riders, a C+ should be reasonable pace. There will be a break in Bethpage Park before heading towards Plainview via the Bethpage Bikeway in Plainview. Please bring snacks/water since there won't be a food stop. The restrooms will be open in the park.
Please check back on this post for any cancellations/changes for this ride
