Hoping to ride Cathy’s Silly Lilly’s Sassafras route but will leave the destination open based on wind direction. We are heading south east to Silly Lilly's fishing station in East Moriches. Beginning with a loop on Ridge Rd. to Wm. Floyd, and working our way to Wading River Rd. taking it all the way south to Montauk Hwy. & east to Silly Lilly's. It's a Long S T R E T C H the entire way south. We will have a quick rest stop in East Moriches, lots to choose from. The return route is different with continued nice stretches and back roads. We are heading back on Pine St. to Chapman Blvd., to South St., to Silas Carter Rd., to Ryerson Ave., around Swan Lake Golf course area & back to Rocky Pt. cycle.
Park in overflow lot to the south of the RR station for an easy ride to Bellport. Deli stop included. Check back for any changes which would be posted by 7 am.
Well here it is, the T-Birds Century Training Ride #9, the final one! We'll flatten out the route and roll on down the highway, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EEe8UZ5SCm0, eventually arriving at Briermere Farms at around 25 miles. Hopefully, we'll have a faster average, as we taper-off the mileage and get ready for the Century.
Listen-up for the route directions and grab a cue sheet; this will be a new route. As usual, we'll have some places to stretch your legs and maybe a sprint!
Good luck to everyone doing the Century!
Take a glance at the infamous Memory Motel, as you ride into Montauk: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Cowl02DXx3A&feature=youtu.be (based on some Rolling Stone experiences). And remember Al Swiezy and his famed ice cream spoon and other SBRA greats like: Al Kelly - who created so many great routes, and Jessie Newman - who ran the famed SBRA time trials!
