NOTE:
Under the Ride Level details, the "Type: Road Bike" refers to the ride will be on paved roads (rather then off road trails). Although a Road Bike is suggested for Road Bike Type rides it is not required. Hybrid and mountain bikes can be used on these rides as well provided you are comfortable with the pace outline in the Posted Ride. This ride calendar is for club rides, club meetings, club event posts and shop rides only.
For Other Events in our area and off Long Island check out the "Other Rides & Events calendar" and the "Forums"

It will be nice weekend to hit the road but I will give the trails another shot...
We will ride around Belmont State Park Lake then taking the trail down to Babylon town dock. The trail can accommodate fat tire, mountain and cross bikes. Short hydration break at the dock or we can stop at the Delica Sea deli just before the dock if needed.
Note- The route includes both trail and on road riding.
Please check the ride calendar for any weather, or last minute cancellations, which will be posted no later than 7:00am if necessary. My cell is 347-677-4164; call or text if you have questions about the ride or need directions to the start location. DN
..But at least there's some kind of atmosphere, and you'll have some friends! It beats being stuck inside listening to blaring music while someone sweats on you :)
So put on your winter riding kit and we'll take a ride out to Riverhead for a bagel, coffee or your choice. We'll hit Route 24, with a return through some rolling terrain, before we take the South River Road and back to Grumman Ave, and then back to base.
Leaving Oakdale RR we will be heading to Bellport. Our food stop will be at the Bellport Deli. Depending on the weather & route this ride may be a few miles more or less than posted.
This is a B- ride with an average speed of 14.5 to 15 mph, road speeds may reach 17-18mph. Check the ride calender for any changes posted by 7:30am day of ride. Any questions call Mike at 516 448-8545
It's off to Manorville. The average pace for the ride will be between 14.0 to 14.5 mph +/- depending on the roads, wind direction, rider ability or other conditions. Naturally, the road speed will be higher (15 -16.5 mph.) to produce the average. A rest/ food stop at McDonald’s or the bagel shop is on the schedule around mile 12. There are a few places along the route where leg stretches can be done for those who wish to do so. There is no obligation for anyone to do this; you can hang back with me.
Please check the ride calendar for any weather, or last minute cancellations which will be posted no later than 8:00am, if necessary. My cell number is 631.484.3490; call or text me anytime if you have questions about the ride
Easy pedal to the Town of Babylon with a stop at the deli for break. Please arrive 20 minutes before the ride start time and be prepared to leave at 9:30 AM.
The ride will be at an Intermediate level since I plan to have done Glacier Ridge the day before and riding two days in a row is a bit much for me.
No need to arrive 20 minutes early and cook in the car or freeze outside ... Please just be ready to ride at the posted start time! Running late? Call my cell # below and we'll wait a bit.
Check back to this posting a Life Happens and Things Change!
Park in the south lot closest to Montauk Highway and away from the stores. Mostly flat back roads to our break at the Quogue Wildlife Refuge. Bathrooms available, bring a snack. Optional pizza after the ride. Looks like a sunny day but starting a little later so it can warm up a bit. Check back for any changes which would be posted by 7 am.
A steady 19 to 20mph for 57 miles. I would like to keep it in that cruising range as we will be riding a bit longer than usual--it's winter! We'll stop at Netties Bakery about 41 miles into the ride. The weather looks good. I hope to see you.
Something new! I haven't been to the Dolci Momenti Bakery but the reviews look pretty good. CVS is in the same lot.
We'll leave from the Holtsville Ecology Center and do part of Ron Goodstadt's Eco to Ridge Deli route, but cut it a little shorter. Since this ride isn't that long, we'll stop towards the end of the ride at the bakery, then have a very short ride back to the finish.
Off to Nettie's for great soup or wonderful baked goods. Nettie's has two indoor eating areas (one has a firelace), as well as an outdoor picnic table area. For info: contact Bill G. at 631-356-3036. Check the ride calendar the day of the ride for changes, which would be posted by 8:00am.
C ride to Netties Country Bakery for Lunch or snacks whatever there will be a few hills most of the roads will have very little traffic, no one left behind will adjust pace to whoever shows up my first ride in a long time so it will be slow with some go aheads.
