NOTE:
Under the Ride Level details, the "Type: Road Bike" refers to the ride will be on paved roads (rather then off road trails). Although a Road Bike is suggested for Road Bike Type rides it is not required. Hybrid and mountain bikes can be used on these rides as well provided you are comfortable with the pace outline in the Posted Ride. This ride calendar is for club rides, club meetings, club event posts and shop rides only.
For Other Events in our area and off Long Island check out the "Other Rides & Events calendar" and the "Forums"

This is a mellow A- ride to the bakery. Masks are required at Nettie's and you MUST wait on the line to get in, even if just to use restroom...as per request of Nettie's mgmt. to SBRA recently.
Off to Nettie's for treats and wonderful outdoor seating, including couches, rockers and tables. Bathrooms are available. To join this ride, text Bill G. at 631-356-3036, with your SBRA, Emergency and Cell numbers. This ride is limited to 12 riders, and you will be notified by return text whether you are in, or that the ride is filled. You must have a mask, and must read the Covid announcement following this message. Check the ride calendar the day of the ride for changes, which would be posted by 07:00am.
If you want to avoid the wind chill this winter you'll come into the woods. This will be a relatively short ride. The ride will start with a narrow fire road and then proceed onto single track that is well worn and relatively wide. You will be able to do this ride even if you have a department store Mtn Bike. You might even be comfortable if you have a hybrid bike. We won't be deep into East Setauket woods but regardless, NO ONE gets dropped in the woods.
If I don't hear that other riders are showing I may cancel the ride. Check back to this posting before leaving for the ride as Life Happens and Things Change.
SBRA insurance requires that Mtn Bike riders MUST sign a Ride Sign In sheet for each Mtn Bike ride. Please text me and include your name. I will email you a copy of the Ride Sign in sheet to sign and bring to the ride unless you do me a favor and print it from here: https://www.sbraweb.org/sites/default/files/Ride_Sign-In_Sheet.pdf
You must have a mask on your person to ride though it's typical to be more than 15 feet a part in the woods.
Join me for this ride from Eastport, along Dune Road, to Westhampton. When we get to Westhampton we will take our break at the Bakery.
This is a C+ ride, which will average 12.3 - 12.8, depending on the winds, etc. The exact route will be determined at the start, by the prevailing winds, so there may not be a cue sheet for this ride.
NOTE #1: You must be a club member to go on club rides.
NOTE #2: rides at this time are limited. You MUST text me with your name & SBRA Member Number if you want to ride. I will return the text: YES, you have a spot…or…NO, Ride Filled...CELL #: 631-523-2129
Join us to rumble through Rocky Point trails before they close for hunting November 1st. I rode there yesterday and the woods are beautiful this time of year. If you plan to ride, please text me your name, emergency # and club # by Friday evening. There will be a limit of 6-8 riders; masks will be required in parking lot. There will be plenty of room to spread out once in the woods.
This will be an advanced beginnger/intermediate ride and we will do the Main trail (skip Westside Loop) with 3/4 easy mogul diamonds. We usually do a pecking order so faster riders can go ahead and slower pull up the rear. Plenty of wait ups. Please bring enough water and if you need snacks.
DEC permits are required: 1 on your windshield and 1 on your person. Meet in parking lot on Rocky Point Road just north of Whiskey Road (not 25A bypass).
Please be sure you have signed the club waivers for riding during covid; read and adhere to club policies for riding during COVID. This ride is for members only. check back to this site for possible changes by 8:30 am Saturday. Rain Saturday morning will cancel, heavy rain, Friday night may cancel.
