NOTE:
Under the Ride Level details, the "Type: Road Bike" refers to the ride will be on paved roads (rather then off road trails). Although a Road Bike is suggested for Road Bike Type rides it is not required. Hybrid and mountain bikes can be used on these rides as well provided you are comfortable with the pace outline in the Posted Ride. This ride calendar is for club rides, club meetings, club event posts and shop rides only.

The ride is relatively flat with a two mile optional down/up hill loop in Shoreham at the 3/4 point of the ride that some may want to wait out. The link to the route is below my text. Take a look at the ride elevation profile.

The ride will be following the SBRA COVID-19 Guidelines. I would like to limit the group to five or six riders. I really would like to have any riders come along for company ;-). PLEASE text or email (address below route link) me with your rider information (Name, Member #, Emergency #, Cell #). IF I don't receive any text messages I may vary the start time a bit.
You must have a mask on your person to do this ride ... I've been able to wear the multi-layer mask at ready as lowered around my neck while riding and would suggest you do the same.
We'll be stopping for a scheduled break at the 20 mile point of the ride.
Join me for this Columbus Day ride from Bellport to the Smith Point Marina. We will make a bathroom stop at Weirtheim, then a quick stop at 7-11 for any snacks or beverages, then on to the Marina for our break. The destination may be changed if the winds will impact our ride.
This is a C+ ride which will average 12.6 - 12.9 (depending on the wind and the riders), we will be observing spacing rules, etc., and there may be cue sheets.

We will head out to Westhampton Beach for a bathroom stop, than head out to Dune Road. Heading East on Dune we will stop at a park near the Ponquogue Bridge and Shinecock Inlet,, so bring drinks and snacks. Returning West on Dune we will go to the Quogue Preserve for a bathroom break. From the preserve we will go to a pocket park in Westhampto Beach, where there are restrooms and the Beach Bakery is a 30 second walk from the park. Speed and distance can be affected by the wind. I changed the ride to Netties because Briermere has no hot Coffee and I don't want to sit outside without something warm to drink we will start from Maples in Manorville.You must have submitted a digital waver to do this ride. This is a scenic ride, we will be exploring a lot of the side roads between Mattituck and Greenport, returning along North Road. There will be many stops to look at the view. Bathrooms at mile 1, 32, 43 - though there may be others hidden in the bushes! We will stop at Greenport deli for a longer break.
Join me for this scenic ride,cruising speed will be 10-11 depending on the group. No one gets dropped.
We will ride around some quiet back roads of Sayville while working our way to the Great South Bay. we'll be passing the Mansion at West Sayville and the Long Island Maritime Museum. We'll wind our way to the beach for a snack and bathroom break. Then we'll head East to Bayport, enjoy a couple more water views and head back on our return leg. Please bring water, spare tube, and a snack if you wish.
