NOTE:
Under the Ride Level details, the "Type: Road Bike" refers to the ride will be on paved roads (rather then off road trails). Although a Road Bike is suggested for Road Bike Type rides it is not required. Hybrid and mountain bikes can be used on these rides as well provided you are comfortable with the pace outline in the Posted Ride. This ride calendar is for club rides, club meetings, club event posts and shop rides only.

Early Start 8am to beat the Holiday traffic. We will hit all our favorite spots: Dune road, Red Creek, Pleasure Drive, the Golf Course road, 51 and 111. The pace we did last Saturday was perfect and we will do the same coming in the 20 mph range. Rest stop at Ponquogue Beach mile 27, more if needed and wait ups at our usual spots. IMPORTANT: Please download the route onto your bike computer so we all know the turns! Hope to see you there.
Update: This weekends weather has a few showers arriving, check back by 6am on Saturday for any weather updates or possible change to Sunday.

This is a slower group than Gary's. We will stay true to the B+/A- pace with a maximum cruising speed of 23 (max sustained speed) Maybe we'll shoot for 20 depending on wind and hills. Strive for a smooth steady effort.

This is the route we did last week and I am posting a B+ since we always seem to come in at 17-17/2 or 3 which is a B+ ride. Nothing is changing as far as the pace which we will keep to what we have been doing all along and I am not looking to make this a faster ride. our stop will be around mile 19 in Manorville. Please text me to let me know you are coming. 631-747-3464
Join us on this C+/B- ride to celebrate Darlene's Birthday ~ maybe pizza and/or Carvel after the ride {personal expense}!
This ride will average 13.5 - 14.1. We will ride from Sayville toward Oakdale, then back past Sayville and loop around Patchogue. We will take our break at the Atlantic Ave. Deli. and a bathroom stop will be made on the way to, or from, our break. The exact route will be determined the morning of the ride, so there will not be cue sheets.
Park on the south side of the train station.
Please arrive at least 15 minutes before the ride start, to allow enough time for me to get everyone signed in and to "get yourself" ready.
NOTE #1: You must be a club member to go on club rides.
NOTE #2: rides at this time are limited. You MUST text me (CELL #: 631-523-2129) with your name & SBRA Member Number if you want to ride. I will return the text: YES, you have a spot…or…NO, Ride Filled.
Update - 5/28/2021 10AM - Predections Are That It Is Going To Rain During Ride Time On Saturday
It's off to Manorville. The average pace for the ride will be between 14.6 to 15.0 mph +/- depending on the roads, wind direction, rider ability or other conditions. Naturally, the road speed will be higher (15 -17 mph.) to produce the average. The route might vary slightly from the last time I did this route depending on conditions. A rest/ food stop at McDonald’s or the bagel shop is on the schedule around mile 16. There are a few places along the route where leg stretches can be done for those who wish to do so.
The ride could wind up about a mile or to two more than posted depending on the final route and the direction of the wind. No worries you can do it. Could be a mile less also; who knows. Think of it as an aventure into the unknown.
Any cancellation due to weather or any other circumstance will be posted no later than 0730 if necessary. If you have question about the ride just TEXT me at 631.484.3490. Eventually my phone and I will do a meet and greet in a reasonable amount of time...
Weather is looking iffy so please check back here for any changes/cancellations which would be posted by 7 am. We will likely go toward Oakdale and back to Corey Beach before returning to Sayville RR. No big deli stop so bring a snack. Join us for pizza after if you wish.
