NOTE:
Under the Ride Level details, the "Type: Road Bike" refers to the ride will be on paved roads (rather then off road trails). Although a Road Bike is suggested for Road Bike Type rides it is not required. Hybrid and mountain bikes can be used on these rides as well provided you are comfortable with the pace outline in the Posted Ride. This ride calendar is for club rides, club meetings, club event posts and shop rides only.

This is the same Firehouse 44 route. We'll start early and beat most of the heat. Tempo in this case referes to heart rate zone 3; everyone is different but that's where I'll spend most of the ride. Last week we did 1 minuite pulls on the return to Yaphank (worked out well); I'd like to try that the entire ride. Hope you've had a great July 4th and will be ready for a fast, fun ride.
Be sure to bring water and sun screen as the weather is now getting hotter. For this Flat ride the Average speed is 11-12.5mph depending on riders, wind, tide, position of moon and leaders disposition with a distance of 20-24 miles. Nobody gets left behind and newbies always welcome and well taken care of. Any cancellation will be by before 8:00am. No need to text me.
Please arrive at least 15 minutes before the ride start, to allow enough time for me to get everyone signed in and to "get yourself" ready.
Paek on south side of RR in lot across the street.
Come out and join me for this ride from Eastport King Kullen to West Hampton Bakery, where there are bathrooms available, as well as tasty delights no one left behind ever! Questions call or text cell phone 631-484-1650
We will go to Patchogue today. The road speed will be 15.5/17.0 Pulling is always appreciated but not required.
The average pace for the ride will be between 14.9 to 15.0 mph +/- depending on the roads, wind direction, rider ability, tailwinds, downhills, break-a-ways and other conditions. All of these conditions could change the final average one way or the other. Naturally, the road speed will be higher (15 -17 mph.) to produce the average.
If you are a rider who wants to step up from a C+/B- I would suggest that you – 1. Have been able to ride with at least a 14 average. Remember, my rides come in at 15 +/-. Look up my ride averages. You will be doing roads speeds between 15-17 mph. 2. Most important ask your C+/B- ride leader if he/she thinks this move up is for you. Naturally, if you have a problem I will help you along the way.
We can go to Mc Donalds if you want, but I would like to try a new stop. It will be the same disatance; around the 20 mile mark. This route is is a little rolly on Woodside. Then going back we have a small hill, real small. Not to worry you can all do it, no biggie.
Any cancellation due to weather, or any other circumstance will be posted no later than 0715 if necessary. If you have question about the ride just text me at 631.484.3490. Eventually my phone and I will meet in a reasonable amount of time...
Join me for this evening ride from SAYVILLE around the surrounding areas. This will be an easy C+, with a ride average between 12.2 - 12.7. The exact route will be determined at the start, so there will not be a cue sheet for this ride. We are starting at 6 PM and will have plenty of daylight, but it is recommended that you wear bright/reflective clothing and have working lights on your bike. Please be prompt getting to the ride start, so we may depart on time.
