First click on the "ride title" to see a popup short description of the ride. Then click on the "popup ride title" to see a *** FULL DESCRIPTION *** of the ride details.
NOTE:
Under the Ride Level details, the "Type: Road Bike" refers to the ride will be on paved roads (rather then off road trails). Although a Road Bike is suggested for Road Bike Type rides it is not required. Hybrid and mountain bikes can be used on these rides as well provided you are comfortable with the pace outline in the Posted Ride. This ride calendar is for club rides, club meetings, club event posts and shop rides only.
For Other Events in our area and off Long Island check out the "Other Rides & Events calendar" and the "Forums"

CHANGED: earlier start time and shorter ride. It's going to be hot! No Bartlets - only one optional hill.
Please let me know if you are coming on this ride 631 331 5642 - I need name, SBRA #, emerg phone#. Thanks Max of 12 riders.
There are bathrooms at the start. Park on the right of the entrance.
We will take the long way round to Shoreham where there is a hill (optional), with a great view followed by a bagel store (mile 15). Our return takes us on East Bartlet (that's the easy one) before returning to Mt Sinai.
There is a total of 825' of climbing (with the equivalent downhill too!), most of the ride is rolling, neither of the main hills are steep, more of a long slow climb.
Join me for this C+ ride, which will average 12.2 - 13.0. No one gets dropped and we will be observing spacing rules, etc. Ride destination will be determined by the road conditions; decision to be made the morning of the ride; no cue sheets. We will head to Blue Point, loop around Corey Beach, and stop at the Atlantic Ave. Deli for our break, and there will be a bathroom stop.
Please arrive at least 15 minutes before the ride start, to allow enough time for me to get everyone signed in and to "get yourself" ready.
NOTE #1: You must be a club member to go on club rides.
NOTE #2: I am limiting the number of riders on my rides, so you MUST text me with your name & SBRA Member Number if you want to ride. I will return the text: YES, you have a spot…or…NO, Ride Filled...CELL #: 631-523-2129
Changed to shortened the ride due to the forecast of heat and humidity. This will be a slow C+ because of the heat and humidity. Come out and join me for this ride where there are bathrooms available, as well as tasty delights no one left behind ever! Questions call or text cell phone 631-484-1650
Today's Mi Tierrita ride will be going to Smith’s Point. The route is mostly flat with a small incline here and there and of course there must be one little hill. The average pace for the ride will be between 14.8 to 15.0 +/- mph, depending on the roads and wind direction and not let us forget the break-away. The road speed will be between 15.5 and 17.0 mph. We'll stop along the way for a bathroom break around mile 10. Don’t forget to bring a snack. Do you know what AGUAPANELA is? Come and find out.
The average pace for the ride will be between 14.9 to 15.0 mph +/- depending on the roads, wind direction, rider ability, tailwinds, downhills, break-a-ways and other conditions. All of these conditions could change the final average one way or the other. Naturally, the road speed will be higher (15 -17 mph.) to produce the average.
Any cancellation due to weather or any other circumstance will be posted no later than 0715 if necessary. If you have question about the ride just TEXT me at 631.484.3490. Eventually my phone and I will do a meet and greet in a reasonable amount of time...
