Although a Road Bike is suggested for Road Bike Type rides it is not required. Hybrid and mountain bikes can be used on these rides as well provided you are comfortable with the pace outline in the Posted Ride. This ride calendar is for club rides, club meetings, club event posts and shop rides only.
For Other Events in our area and off Long Island check out the "Other Rides & Events calendar" and the "Forums"

I chose this ride because there are no major roads or beaches, so traffic will be at a minimum. The early time is necessary since the Vet's park parking lot usually fills up by 9:00 on weekends. We will be riding on the Grumman Trail, and secondary roads in Calverton and Manorville. Nettie's has outdoor tables and indoor restrooms. To join this ride, text Bill G. at 631-356-3036 with your full name and date of ride. Check the ride calendar the day of the ride for changes, which would be posted by 07:15am.
The smoke has returned from the Great White North, and Saturday's air quality may be affected. Just in case, we're going to cut the mileage and bring the pace down, so no one gets ill! Let's tell the smoke to Take Off!https://youtu.be/8Jm4LoOaAWI
So, let's take flight from the Dayton Avenue School at 8:30 AM for a moderate-paced paceline ride out to the Riverhead bagel store, via Route 24. The course will be mostly flat to lightly rolling, so it will be an easier ride. On the return, we'll check out the freshly repaired Forge Road, as we head back to Manorville and the run to the finish along Old River and North Street.
We are going to keep a strict moderate pace, so everyone gets home safe! (Those riders who have asthma or other issues, please remember to bring your meds with you).
