Although a Road Bike is suggested for Road Bike Type rides it is not required. Hybrid and mountain bikes can be used on these rides as well provided you are comfortable with the pace outline in the Posted Ride. Firehouse 44 route, group stays together with short pulls. Steady smooth pace with one rest stop at mile 27. Looking forward to seeing your smiling faces.
Heading to the famous Copenhagen bakery in Northport via Vanderbilt rollers. We'll be doing a few hills along the way but nothing too crazy. Group stays together with wait-ups as needed. Food/rest stop at the bakery.

Join me for this C+ ride, which will average 11.9 - 12.6; no one gets dropped and we will be observing spacing rules, etc. Ride route will be determined by the road conditions; decision to be made the morning of the ride; no cue sheets. We will head to Blue Point and loop around Corey Beach. We will probably take our break at the Atlantic Ave. Deli; there will be a bathroom stop.
Please arrive at least 15 minutes before the ride start, to allow enough time for me to get everyone signed in and to "get yourself" ready.
NOTE: I am limiting the number of riders on my rides, so you MUST text me with your name, SBRA Member Number, and Emergrncy Contact phone number if you want to ride. I will return the text: YES, you have a spot…or…NO, Ride Filled...CELL #: 631-523-2129

The old route through Stony Brook/Setauket. When we get to the hills, take whatever speed, fast or slow, and we'll meet at the top. Expect an average of 13+. No bathroom break, just a snack stop at the lighthouse. Any changes or cancellation will be posted by 7:30 morning of ride. New hill riders welcome.
We will be doing a route to Patchogue. Think Woodside Ave, East direction only. I would like to come in between 13.8 and 14 mph., +/- a tad. Trying to build up distance and speed so all of us (if you want) can get back to riding a Low (14.5) B minus. In order to get this average we will be doing road speeds between 14.5 and 16 mph. Expect down hills to be faster. Things could change slightly due to the road conditions and the wind. Around Mile 15 we will stop at McDonalds to refuel. Help in pulling the ride would be appreciated, but not required.
If you have any questions or concerns, please text me at 631.484.3490. Should there be a cancellation or change, it will be posted by 7:30am.
Ride starts at Islip Bank of America and goes around the Islips. This is a C+/B- ride, cruising at 14 to 16 mph to get an average of 13 to 14 mph. Any changes will be posted at least 90 minutes before the ride.
