With the predicted hot and unstable weather, let's get out on the roads early. IF, you haven't done the Thunderbirds Rides, here's your chance; we'll keep the pace in the B/B+ range this time. And you'll get to ride on less-traveled roads without tons of traffic lights. Or, if you haven't ridden with us in awhile - here's your chance! Note: this will be a paceline ride!
So, here's the details: We'll ride out to Briermere Farms zig-zagging our way out to the fields, leading us out to Briermere. After a stop at Briermere to sample their goodies, we'll head our way home through the fields, hitting the Little Goat Rise. This eventually will lead us to River and Old River Roads and the finish in Manorville.
Let's get out the word and get a good group together! The more riders, the less work for each rider!
Who knows, maybe if this ride goes large enough, we can get our picture on the cover of the Rolling Wheels !https://youtu.be/gUjcjUF-urU
Join me for this will be a C+ ride, which will average 12.0 - 12.7, partly depending on the winds, the riders, etc. Since the exact route will be determined at the start, so there willnot be a cue sheet for this ride. We will ride part of Dune Road (direction determined by the winds that day) and then take our break in Westhampton at the Beach Bakery, where bathrooms and food are available.
NOTE #1: I am limiting the number of riders on my rides, so you must text me with your name, SBRA Member Number, and Emergency Contact Phone Number if you want to ride, I will return the text: YES, you have a spot; NO, ride is filled. CELL #: 631-523-2129.
