Camping at Smithpoint this week and gonna run a new route also gonna bring it to a B+/A- as I have been struggling after 30 miles from being off bike and Sciattica.
Let me know if your planning on riding Saturday Night by 8pm. Thanks in advance dave
Ride the shaded roads of Calverton/Manorville for this slower (11-12mph) for 18-22 miles. Route depends on wind, tide, position of moon and ride leaders disposition, so bring a snack and hydration. Nobody left behind and newbies well taken care of. Any cancellation/changes will be by 7:45. Get there 15-20 minutes early to get your s**t together. No need to text, email, call or send me smoke signals.
We will follow the same route as Howard (if he's back) except, it will be shorter, and slower. I would like to come in between 13.8 and 14 mph +/- a tad. Trying to build up distance and speed so all of us can get back to riding a Low (14.5) B minus. In order to get this average we will be doing road speeds between 14.5 and 16 mph. Expect down hills and wind at your back to be faster. We will take a break at the bagel shop about mile 14. Things could change slightly due to road conditions and wind direction.May add a mile or two.Pulling is always appreciated. NOTE: This ride will come in on the high end of a C+/B- Please read the possible road speeds. There will be GOOD STUFF after the ride
If you have any questions, or concerns please text me at 631.484.3490. Should there be a cancelation or change it will be posted by 7:30am.
Today's’ route to Great River will change up a bit towards the end of the ride - if the wind is in our favor; making this route pretty flat except for 2 overpasses. We will go the usual route heading south using the Connetquot Park bike bath. We’ll work our way down to Heckscher Park, do a loop where one can stretch the legs a bit if desired. At these speeds Pulling is Important ! I would like to keep the road speed between 17 - 19 mph and come in at an average Hi 15 and Lo 16. Cyclists coming with "E" bikes must stay at the end of the bike line. Good stuff after the rid
